I will do that, but I was going to see if anyone on here had one and willing to sell it for under $100.

radio shack, hand held for like 99, but dont hold me against this but i believe that every one (police, fire, and ems) in cottage grove has gone to the 800 megahertz digital system, in that case itll cost ya about 500 for a scanner....

sorry to burst your bubble, but all police stations in the cities use frequencies that only the expensive scanners can pick up, i.e. the $499 units. The $100 ones will be useless to you down here.

I used to work at radioshack and it was a daily thing; everyday someone wanted one to use "in their house" and i told them the news that what they thought was going to be a relatively cheap solution, ended up costing 5 times as much.

I have an experience with a police scanner (Bear Tracker).

I had to make a quick trip to Duluth. (A friend was in trouble and needed me there). I was running a little over the century mark. Watching the radar detector and listing to the Bear Tracker. I heard the heard the highway I was on and the mile marker about 2 miles ahead. So I slowed to just over the limit and waited. Then I saw it... a line across the highway and a small plane running parallel with the road. When I crested the next hill I saw the patrol cars waiting to nab the cars the airplane was calling out.

Hard to find 12 foot whips. But I did have a CB radio group buy going this past spring. We bought about a dozen of them. If you want, I can get you a hookup.

    BTW. Stop trolling.
