Looking to hire Emergency Communication Casual Security Dispatcher

    Looking to hire a Casual Security Dispatcher for my Department.

    Location: University of Minnesota Fairview Amplatz Hospital
    Hours:
    Varies. Available hours get sent out every week. It can range from 0-40+ hours. You are basically the fill in for open slots and call offs.
    Benifits: No
    Pay: $16.50-$17.50 base on qualifications
    Hour requirements: must pick up a shift per pay period when hours are available (2 week pay rotation)
    Job qualifications: (what the web site says)
    HS degree/GED, 1 year of customer service/security experience, excellent communication and computer skills. Ability to assess emergencies and respond quickly.

    Preferred Quals: Associate/technical degree in telecommunications or law enforcement and 1+ years of dispatch or hospital security experience.

    Actual Job specs:
    -The job is a fast pace, high stress environment.
    -We Dispatch for both East bank UMMC Fairview and West bank UMMC/Amplatz Fairview
    -We monitor multiple off site clinics and pharmacies as far out as Princeton
    - The area sq. ft. coverage is bigger than the Mall of America.
    -We average over 350,000 calls per year
    -There are over 500 camera's that we can monitor
    -911 Dispatchers have quit this place calling it insane
    -We have the highest bed counts for Mental Health in MN
    -You will have zombie brain by the end of your shift

    This is a great job for anyone who is looking for a little more income on the side. You pick and choose whatever open hours you are able to pick up as long as it is one shift per pay roll.

    Is there really a competitor? I mean its a dispatcher position, its like saying cops are competitors in different cities

    This employer is Fairview health systems I work for a different health car provider... Also I'm looking for a PT gig 1-2 days a week... I understand code greens, oranges, pinks, reds, ect

    If that ia the case every job is q competitor with a similar job, I dont think it should matter, its not like your going to work any more or less hard.

    One of my Dispatchers just went through an interview at HCMC.

    We work with the other Dispatch Dept also.

    I've toured through all of them.

    But you can't be a cop and work for two different cities at the same time.

    we had 911 dispatchers work 2 departments. and other dispatchers work for other dept.

    We actually have a really laid back team. every one does their own thing but when its crunch time, they know when to stop messing around and start working.

    So you're the guy behind that smoked out window on first floor East building? I worked in the Biomed shop on the West Bank. I was just there yesterday interviewing, had no idea a MNSubaru member (you) worked dispatch!

    I currently just filled the open casual spot. But will be putting up a new casual position soon.

    New minimum pay rate. starting at $17.50-18.75.
