For those of you who own one, what brand do you suggest looking into? Is the Innovative LM-1 going to be the best bet? I'll be using enginuity for logging/tuning thanks in advance 02 wrx
http://www.zeitronix.com/Products/zt2/zt2.htm That is the unit I plan on getting when the time comes, have heard good things about it... Displays afr, boost, egt's, and probably a few other things if you like. I did a search on (nasioc I think) and it looks like you can place the unit display where you're clock is, and it doesn't "clutter" up you're dash with multiple gauges.
I have the innovative wideband (xd-01 gauge set) and it works really well. It can be kinda tricky when you first get it to figure it all out. its a pretty complicated unit for being so small. I am glad I got it though, in fact I am going to be putting it back in shortly. I also like the fact that you can wire it into the stock ecu as a normal 02 sensor. very helpful in my situation.
There is testing going on to integrate various wbo2's with Enginuity (popular logging software). Personally I would not buy one that isn't on that list. The only one I remember off the top of my head is the LC-1/LM-1 (LM just comes with a handheld device, LC requires a laptop if I read everything right).
From what i remember this is right. the LM-1 is the unit where you can monitor all the settings on the device. the LC-1 is the wideband controller and should come with all their wb02 setups. my xd-01 gauges runs off the the LC-1.
the LC-1 is a good unit if you don't need something portable. I am logging with enginuity and it works really well. I use a Prosport AFR gauge as well.
Thanks for all the helpful info, I'm trying to decide if I want the LC-1 or LM-1. Can this be mounted right after the turbo or does it have to go on the tailpipe ? I'm sure if I researched a bit I can find an answer..but...
The LM-1 is more of a portable wideband solution. Everything is connected via modular connectors such as the power (via a cigarette lighter adapter) and sensor cables. It also comes with a box that kind of looks like an oldschool GameBoy (but bigger) that displays & records readings and also does all of the calibration stuff. With the tailpipe clamp (like what I've got), you can temporarily clamp the sensor in the tailpipe. You can also take off the clamp and then screw the sensor into any standard o2 sensor bung. The LC-1 is designed for a permanent mount. Everything needs to be hardwired in. The vast majority of people that use this also buy a gauge to display the readings. I've also got something like this, but mine is the AEM UEGO unit.
I put the wb02 from my LC-1 in the DP right behind the turbo. Also the innovate XD-01 kit is pretty neat. IIRC you can do AFR data logging with it. and you can change the colors lol http://www.innovatemotorsports.com/products/xd16.php I have the standalone gauge kit
