This past weekend i would take my car into town (we where in Hinckley) and the entire way it sounded like my roof rack was whistling really loudly.

    1. Has anyone had this happen before.
    2. Is there any good fix to it.

It seems to happen only when it has been really cold out though, as in car is totally frosted over. I would remote start my car to warm it up and the noise is definitely from overhead and only at speed. The pitch changes with the speed.

    Thanks
    Shaun

I use to get that problem from a ladder rack on a pick-up. Are there any open ends? The ladder almost sounded like someone was blowing across the top of an empty bottle or something! Loud and annoying!! Don't know for sure the fix but I would think that it could be possible for hot/cold expansion to maybe loosen up an end cap on some tubing or something. Fix suggestion: DUCT TAPE!

Get some of that expanding foam called "Stuff" Works great. I used it when I used to drive a company truck at my old job with a ladder on the top, that fawker would whistle all day long. I filled up the holes in the rungs of the ladder and sweet silence was once again.
