Can anyone tell me where I might be able to pick up a m12 x 1.25 bolt? I'll be using this to plug the o2 bung hole on my gutted uppipe. I have had zero luck finding one of these locally. I've been to NAPA, Home Depot, Menards and a couple others. Heck, Fastenall didn't even have it. There has got to be a store around here that has one.

I think your bolt needs to be a 14mm 1.25

Yep you need 14mm by 1.25
I have used oil drain plugs that you can buy at the parts store. They are the perfect length.

14mm? Hmm, everything that I found on nasioc told me m12. Guess i'll bring the uppipe with me to be sure it fits. 14mm it is then.

I'll hit up an auto store this afternoon for an oil drain plug and see if I can have some luck.

Also have you guys used red loctite just to be sure it stays? I've heard they can back out?

    Thanks

yeah. most people don't have issues...but there's always the exception. I've read a number of people looking for a boost leak to find out their trusty bolt has decided to leave the pipe. Not like you're ever going to use the bung again anyways. I've welded a few through Midas in EP, they charge me 10 bucks and it takes just a few minutes. (of course I do this before i install the pipe.);)

Wait up pipe.... There is no oxygen sensor in the up pipe. You must be trying to plug your egt. That is a different thread pitch then an oxygen sensor.

Whoops. Yes EGT bung is the hole i'm trying to plug. A bit too early to be posting for me I guess.

So does m12 x 1.25 make sense for the egt probe hole?

(slaps head) shoulda had a V8

Well you can still get a drain plug in that size. I know check has a rack with drain plugs that would work. They have the sizes listed right on them.

edit^^^^ thanks Iroc-z. I'll swing by Checker later today and snatch one up.

Ok so is an oil drain plug still the bolt I'm looking for or will I need to continue my Lord of the Rings type quest to find this specific one bolt to rule them all?

Stupid bolt. Maybe I will have my friend weld it shut, or shove some playdoh in there?

btw, it won't be a subaru drain plug. they are significantly larger (17mm threads, IIRC.....when I was looking for an 02 plug I had an extra oil plug, and it was too big).

    also, try an exhaust shop.

    Got it!

Thanks for the suggestions all. The winner was Checker Auto. Yes Checker Auto was the correct answer.

Now some red lock tite for good mesure and now a resistor and onto finding a fix for the downpipe sensor. I have an idea what I need for that just have to find those dealies to.

Downpipe sensor can be bypassed with two spark plug anti-foulers stacked on top of one another with your O2 on the end of them.

    Serious as a heart attack.

    Sweet

Yup that is exactly what I am looking for.

I assume the spark plug anti-foulers can be had at any local auto store.

Thanks for posting that up Etchy. Very infromative post

I was in Checker yesterday but didn't look for them. I'm assuming Napa has them.

Checker did have the bung bolt you were looking for but you've already solved that riddle.

For future reference and searches (hahaha, I kill myself, there's obviously no search button on mnsubaru, look at most threads!), you can find 1.25mm pitch metric bolts in most sizes at Ace hardware stores, but they're grade 10.9 so they're a little spendy and flange head.

Perfect for the rear diff though, which calls for M10-1.25mmx25mm 10.9 grade flange head bolts.
