FYI, registration just opened for the first MAC Autocross Novice School of the year. More information can be found on the MAC website, where they've started a thread for it... http://forum.mnautox.com/forums/showthread.php?t=8507

As usual with MAC events, registration is online only, and done through MAE... http://www.myautoevents.com.

Places are limited, so if you are interested in attending, don't leave it until the last minute to register. Both of last year's classes sold out, and the $50 fee is an absolute bargain.

A bargain and a ton 'o fun. The late school had a bunch of Subies and one Evo plus some other fun cars. Word of advice, don't have super wide tires or baldies.

This was a bunch of fun last year, you get a ton of laps in and great amount of instructor help.

Make sure you show up with a good amount of tire, because the way the event is run, you will be running a good amount of successive laps. Last July it was very hot, which didn't help. I rounded off the outside edges of my front RE92's over the course of the day. They held up fine over the next two Test 'n Tunes @ DCTC after, since I had a better feel for when I was stressing the tires (and overdriving the car) after the novice event.

I agree regarding the tire. Also, this event was a blast last year.

Yeah, I went to it last year, a lot of fun, lots of seat and instructor time. Yes! Expect to run through half a tire on all-seasons. Bump those tire pressures up too before the event. The course is generally slow enough where brake fade isn't an issue, however, a bump up to ceramic pads and a free change of brake fluid is proactive.

Since I went last year, I don't think I'm eligible to go again, but I'm seriously thinking about running through the normal MOWOG event year this year, at least make an attempt to if scheduling allows.

Yeah, I'm going to try hard to get at least to the test-n-tune events, although they're late in the season...

Wish this wasn't the same weekend as the first sport compact day at Rockfalls. I think I'll try to get to this event instead
