Im sure this has been asked a few times, but Im having trouble getting a solid lead.

I have a EJ20 block that needs the cylinders bored and the deck machined. Does anyone have any recommendations on who to use as a machine shop in the Twin Cities area? the motor is completely disassembled and cleaned already.

does anyone have any experience with a Rock Auto rebuild kit? or should I stay away?

I have the crankshaft that came out of this block as well, it had bad rod knock, does it have any value to anyone?

    Thanks all,

    Chris

I would also like to know of a reputable machine shop for when I eventually get to rebuilding my supra.

We use Headwerks, never had a problem. They do quality work, out of Minneapolis.

pretty sure Headwerks only works on Cylinder heads, they said they would mill the deck, but no game on the cylinder bore.......

Another +1 for Headwerks... Not the cheapest option, but they do great work and keep you informed throughout the process.

I got an e mail from them saying they would only work on heads and mill the deck (if no one else would), I figured they were they way to go to begin with. so, still looking for other options unfortunately

Dudes...go to Metro Engine in New Brighton...I have had 20+ Subaru engines through there...they do the best job...and they know how to deal with subaru specific issues!!
