Either cd or DVD.. prefer DVD if it is doable ac it will hold more..

what is the secret to getting it to play on my car deck...

i have burn with Toast 8 on mac.. didnt read the disc...

tried with NEro on a dvd disc... didnt read the disc again...

can you only have one main folder for each artist then all mp3s within that regardless of different albums??

or does it just have to be the mp3 files with NO folders per artist???

mp3 playback is needed on your deck

    ding ding

MP3 discs are pretty hard to mess up so I bet its not your burning method.

If you put the CD back in your pc, can you see the MP3 files on it under each folder you created? Or did it convert them to ie; WMA files?

If you burn it as an audio disk (max 80min or so depending on the actual CD-R) then there should be no problem.

If you burn as a data disc, then you'll need a deck (like the 07, or most new aftermarket decks now) with MP3 compatibility.

The only decks that would read a DVD-R would be the ones that are also DVD players.

It has to be a DVD deck to play a DVD disk. Any CD-R will or should work.

Download a free version of winamp, and try that. It has the ability to burn an MP3 cd. I usually just use I-Tunes.

it's important to get the format right for this.
you must burn the disk as an ISO-9660 with JOLIET file names.
you should be able to easily burn this with the latest version of iTunes.
iTunes > Preferences > "Burning" tab > then select "DATA CD" or "MP3 CD" i can't quite remember which one...

ok 3rd attempt didnt work... I used the wrong disc setting so I knew that was a waste.. ha ha

Now how can I maximise the amount of music... I am guessing lowering the quality... but that defeats the purpose...

oh well 90 songs is better then 12.. ha hah a

I am gonna try itunes this time...

ps.. thanks for the advice so far

Mp3 worked fine for me in that deck. Make a cd-r in iTunes and it should work.

mac FTL, in every way possible. itunes, ipod, and none of it works, as usual. my $50 Aiwa deck, and my 5-year old 20Gb Dell DJ....works every time.

I've had a few different mp3 decks, and always just burned a data disc (usually with Easy CD Creator, but lately with Nero) with all .mp3 songs, and it works fine.

like Hallywood said.....put the disc back in your comp, and see how they show up (if at all). that'll be a quick way to make sure some things are working right.

is there a manual with your deck? any hints in there as to the requirements for an MP3 CD?

Pretty sure there is an option in the setup menu on that deck that configures the cd player for whatever format your gonna use. It's similiar to mine, so when my ass gets outta bed I'll check on it...

My deck does it just fine. Like Shane said. Joliet and ISO 9660 DATA DISK. It has to be a Data disk. Folders shouldn't matter, well, depending on the deck. Mine has a menu that it puts on the LCD screen that shows folders and such. If you want, I've got a DVD mp3 disc that I know works in my car if you want to try that.

its fine.. I got it worked out... yeah no dvd disc.. I used that thinking being 4gb I could put a buttload of mp3s on it and be set till I sort out my ipod...

anyways used a cd-r as the software says, used itunes, selected the mp3 option, burnt disc.. it worked.... AMAZING.... ha ha ha I had missed that setting in the burning option in itunes...

also chux.. I have had more issues with my pc's then I have with my mac and ipod... and I have both of them....

I use a HP laptop and a mac book side by side.. each has their advantages and disadvantages...

    actually, you didn't
iPod will play MP3s and AAC files... but iTunes defaults to AAC and automatically converts unless you specify otherwise.
