For those interested, findtheline is doing a 2 day event at the end of September. If I go, it'll likely be for Sunday only...but things could change. I'm also going to see if I can't just camp at the track and save a few dollars on the trip. Sunday is the better of the two days if you can only make it to one of them. http://www.findtheline.com/eventreg
I'm already signed up - but for saturday only. works better for my schedule. not sure yet if anyone else from rochester is coming.
I had some issues getting parts in time...so I ended up not going. Not too happy about it either. Well, time to prep for next year.
i understand. though, i was kinda lonely, only subaru there. and had to leave early due to lack of tire - but had fun anyway.
How was the weather? Looked like a good group of cars going down. I'm planning on hitting even more events next year...hopefully we'll see you out there next year.
Its great to see more board members getting involved with these events. I dont want to sound like a broken record, but lets all plan on doing an event together next season. So lets hear the details on how your sessions went?
Weather was fine, we had a shower go through overnight. Very windy though - 40 mph gusts. so the track dried out pretty quickly. there was only enough for 2 groups, so there wasn't much time between runs. I skipped a couple sessions, and people in the A group hardly ran at all. Maybe 2-5 A cars out at a time. my tires wore pretty quickly - they were on their last track day anyway & i just ordered some new falken 615s. once i kicked in the camber in the front wheels i got some lift throttle oversteer, which was nice. but when i got home i notice that there was no pretension on one of my coilovers - makes me wonder if it was that way all weekend. oh, well. it would definately be better with more people too. i would have enjoyed company!
You can count on more company next season, we will have to get a schedule early in the season and everyone can start planning on an event together. Thanks for the details.
I think this is the best way to do it. Every year I try to plan my track season out and something comes up. If I can get these planned...those other events can take a back seat I haven't decided if I'm doing BMW club or PCA events, but will likely do findtheline events as much as possible and the possibly a slowpokes event up at BIR. But, if someone can find a schedule for 2008 track events, I can get started. Any plans for your cars in the off season? Mike
I usually put together a Seasonal Schedule at the begining of the year and add more club events as they become available. More board members are introducing more different forms of motorsport so trying to keep the text form schedule simple is becoming very difficult. What I'd like to suggest for next year is an interactive Calender as one of the tabs and a link to the different Calendar Posts for each different forms or something simple to keep it organized. The club is getting very diverse and though some members only prefer only a certain form of motorsports, others may have serveral so for example it would be nice to know if there are scheduling conflicts if you had to choose between events. All those clubs are great for open lapping and if your looking for more training you know where to go. I have a few ideas for winter, but nothing comfirmed, as you know every year on the news energy cost is constantly going up. Bunch of BS, but thats another topic.
