Official MnSubaru Disc Golf Turny we would basically take over a park, and have ourselves a potluck... Free fun times to be had.... and we'll figure out how to set it up... and find a few prizes or somthing... whos in? and we would need to vote on a park. and a round about date...
I'm in. I'm not all that great but I can shoot near par on most courses. I'd love to play North Valley but it's always real busy. Bassett Creek is an easy one to get lots of people on, never too busy.
kinda hard to take over a park and do this.. we'd need to have judges and all that lame shieet..but we could just play as a group and not keep score
not really that hard to keep score. Theres an easy way to have it done.. and even still if you need to cheat at something as silly as disc golf, well... thats just silly.
I've had to disqualitfy people for cheating in tournements before....but there was a few thousand dollars in the prize pot/packages. It will only be "silly Disc golf" until Nike puts a Swoosh on a disk. Oh, and if you guys get everything set down i'd try to make a trip down to play.
heck yes there will not be thousands of dollars in prize money for this... maybe some red lobster cupons or something.. or maybe I can convince justin to throw in something.... like a couple t-shirts or something.. either way the rules will be set in such a way... that cheating will serve you no purpose As there may not be a prize for comin in 1st. Might do a raffle for those who show up for a "main prize", and some gimmick prizes such as Longest putt, Longest throw, Best outfit, Most awsome disc, stuff like that. it'll be fun
I'm gonna set the date as MAY 12th. so start practicing! if anyone has anything to donate for a raffle / prizes.. big or small drop me a PM. This will be a potluck event and if this one turns out well, we'll do more this summer. I will edit the post with all the rules / contest info tonight.
lake ep? theres only 4 spots that are really awsome to play at that would be perfect for this bryant lake and lionhead park are my favs... but list 'em all up and we'll vote.
Should work. Put me down, I'll bring my 16 yr old son (who's life changed forever after last years fun run
Played my first game today and I think im hooked!!! Its a lot of fun and I dont think I am half bad considering I only bought a driver and a putter!!! I wish I lived closer to you guys I would love to play some other courses.
may 12 is the day after graduation for NDSU and my wife is graduating....damn, I really wanted to make this and meet some of you guys...
I have to back out. I forgot its graduDRUNKification at UW-Stout this weekend. I gotta go back for grad parties. Sorry for late notice. Have fun, i wanted to do this.
I work from 7-3 that day. CRAP!!! And I've been practicing a bunch too. Sorry for being a handraiser but I needed at least 3 weeks to request a day off so I'm pretty much screwed.
I'm setting up june 9th as well for the same park... so if you can't make it to this one, you'll have a 2nd chance
cant make it, i work.. the whole prize thing seems lame. how about just keep track of it and get bragging rights
Sorry, going to have to bow out as well. This is a busy month, grad party season. I will do my best to make the June date!
Tomorrows the good times day!!!!! looking forward to getting out with you guys. don't forget a small somthing to share for a group picknic!
Just an update- If you have yet played the new Hyland Ski Area course go do it!! The course has 18 holes and most of them are very challenging with some long long holes, 720 is the longest!!:eek3: The cost is $3 per person or $5 for an all day pass. It is the best course I've played in Minnesota by far. Bring some water or something...it took almost 1.5 hours to complete. Found two nice discs though... http://www.threeriversparkdistrict.com/picks/discgolf_hyland.cfm#layout
Nice course, but make sure you are in shape and up to the challenge of walking up and down a ski hill, I played this course last year and thought i was going to die by the end. Other than that it was fun.
