I'm in the market for a car again... Was hoping to find a good forester xt 5mt, 05+ LGT Wagon 5mt, 06-07 WRX wagon 5mt, or another Saabaru like I had. Found an '07 Mazdaspeed 6 today with only 24,000 miles, and I think I can get a great deal on it. I'm wanting a subie wagon because the seats fold all the way down, sedans don't... This Mazda has full folding seats. Drove it, loved it. Somebody talk me into (or out of) buying this car. What are y'alls thoughts on these cars?

You won't make any big power with them (over 400whp) because of the cam driven fuel pump, aftermarket upgrades for the fuel system are weaksauce. I hear they are fun cars though, the MS3's are a blast for a wrong wheel drive car.

    This is an interesting article:

I would imagine that this thing would be harder to work on, and much more expensive to modify... Reliability definitely comes in to question as well. However, right out of the box the Mazda looks like it'd be a little better. I'm going to drive an LGT when I can find one up here, and go from there.

Stock for stock the LGT will beat the mazda in a race, though IMO the mazda looks better and probably has a nicer interior.

My bad, I was still chukling at goodhart's "wrong wheel drive car" comment. :) According to car and driver, LGTs are faster than MS6's

"The Mazdaspeed 6 costs nearly as much as an Evo or an STI but is not as extreme; it costs less than a pimped-out A4 Quattro but doesn't offer Audi's cachet. Instead, it sits somewhere in the middle..." being in the middle is not fun IMO.

I come from the Mazdaspeed world. Protege was the one I had. The MS6 is a very nice, very good looking car. The biggest problem is parts. Lots of the items on there are made in a very limited supply and aftermarket parts are hard to come by and spendy. I would lean towards an LGT if I were you unless you are just IN LOVE!!! with the MS6 for some reason.
