Mechanic Fail of the Day

    Found this while taking apart the front brakes on a vehicle that had a vibrating steering wheel under braking.

    Someone forgot to tighten down the caliper bracket all the way. In fact, it's just barely threaded into the bracket and has been that way for a few months. So, I guess, the torque on those front caliper brackets actually isn't too important. /s

    Bolt threaded in all the way just fine and solved the issue. Could have turned out much worse!

    +1 to the mechanic who didn't take 30 seconds to do a quick visual inspection for issues

    After enough rust forms to lock that bolt in place, it'll stop wiggling. I don't see a problem.

    Happened to my little brothers outback. He somehow lost both caliper bracket bolts...

    Alignment was spot on!

    Removing the clips to let the boots not twist when adjusting toe was not....

    Thankfully no torn boots
