Find the line has an HPDE at MAM on the 18th and 19th for $150/day.
looks like just about the latest track day in the midwest.
I'm thinking of going on the 18th. Anyone else interested? Always fun to have subarus with you.

I might do both days, but two wuld require buying some new pads (thinking XP10s), and I'm not quite sure I want to do that.

I'll keep this in mind. I don't know what's going on that weekend, but if you're definately going, then I will have more incentive to go myself. I had wanted to go this weekend, but doesn't look like I'll make it.
I agree, always more fun with other subarus and people you know there.

AX-6 is basically an auto-x (or very light car) compound.
Carbotech XP-8 or 10 are for you depending on weight of your car and tire.

    HP+ or HPS.
have HPS right now and they're no track pad. If you have roughly ~50% on the fronts remaining, they'll be fine for a track day though. (I have ~50% left, hence why i need pads if i want to do 2 days).

I'm 99% certain I'm doing the 18th (that 1% being $8 gas, fire, flood, end of the world, raptor jesus, etc). I'm unsure about the 19th.

Whoops, I meant HP+ those should hold up @ the track. Yeah, I am going to be there on the 18th, maybe we could caravan down there? Right now I'm trying to figure out which pads to go with as I'm going to shoot for a mass install day this weekend.

I have HP+ on now, and I bring HPS as backup.

HP+ are a much better street/auto-x pad for track use compared to HPS's. The one time I did us HPSs on the track, I experienced a lot of fade near the end of the day.

Hmmm, anyone know of any shops around town that have these? It'd save me time on shipping/sifting through the interwebs.

Oh btw pbedroske are you coming to MAM?

Now if hawk would only make some HP+ for the LGT
For me, it's HPS street/auto-x and something to be named later (probably carbotech XP-10) for track pads.

You answered your own question, but for future lookie-loos, Frozen Rotors stocks Hawks.

I'm now pretty sure I'm going to do both days.
I'm going to have to do my first brake pad change on this cars in the parking lot the evening before. Carbotech XP-10s will be on order shortly.

    Oh and CONVOY!?

I may be bringing my gf and a puppy to drop off at a new home in Des Moines, so no convoy for me. It'd be hard for me to meet up with a convoy anyway, since I'm leaving from Rochester. We could meet up at the hotel or Appleby's that everyone goes to there.

    Alright, I'm bumping this up.

I would be in for a caravan, or I'll wait for LeiboSTi and he and I will travel together from Rochester.

What time are people planning on leaving/arriving? Anyone up for Appleby's?

Depends on whether I decide to put my race pads on in Minneapolis or in Iowa. Either way, they're going on on Friday.

Gotta get my ABS fixed and I may ahve flatstopped my tires, so maybe a shave.

Pat, my family will be back in NY that week, I have to stay here and work through Thursday. I was planning on taking Friday off of work, spending the morning bleeding brakes, changing pads, etc then driving down early afternoon. If you want to come over here to prep your car too, I will order some pizza so we are ready for the drive. Anyone else is welcome...

I was planning to leave in the morning and do my brake pads in the hotel parking lot (I live in an apartment in downtown Minneapolis, no place for DIY). I'm half tempted to go to rochester to mooch your driveway.

I'm going to spend this weekend preping my car so I can be ready to go after work on Friday. If things go right, I can skip out of work a little early and I could be on the road by 3-4. If that's too late, I could look into taking the day off as well.

You are welcome to come on down plenty of tools, jackstands, and room. Just let me know if you are planning to join us.

Pat, I would love to leave a little earlier if possible, I was thinking 2-3. If you can't go until later, I will wait for you.

Given the minor differnce in driving distance, I may do it.
    You all registered yet?
    http://www.findtheline.com/
They don't have enough to confirm the event yet, and I'd like to get that in time to sell my MOWOG 9 spot (and my hopes for the ESP season trophy)

I'd venture that it's better to leave sooner rather than later. Getting there before dark is a good idea if simply to be able to see the 5-0 for farther away.

I'm going to make sure my car is up to snuff before I send money. Last time I didn't do that and my tires were too worn. Luckily Damian is a nice guy and gave me a full refund. Working on the car tomorrow, will send money if it gets a passing grade. :)

So my ABS problem now may be a wheel bearing problem (and covered by warranty, w00t!)
Now lets see how long it takes for the Subaru dealers to get an massively commonly reaplced part in stock.
It takes nearly a week for a goddamn ABS sensor.

Musashi - FTL events are always great. I will post up impressions and hopefully some video next week.

Crap, just remembered to book a room.
They're pretty much out of everything standard, but at least I'll have a fridge in my room?
    It's the settle inn right?

Brad, sounds good. Still don't know when I'll get out of work on Friday. Maybe PM me your phone number or email me at work.

Unfortunately, I need an alignment (shouldn't be too hard to get into Firestone) and I need a re-tune. Turns out I had a boost leak in my intercooler. Got that sealed up, now I'm overshooting my target boost on spool up. Hopefully sjwelna or blackozone can figure it out. Otherwise I'll have to see if bullwinkle can help me out in a pinch. worst case, I'll just drive a little slow around the track... :(

Just had my rear wheel bearing replaced.
Otherwise, ATM I'm good to go, as long as my brake pads show up. (I'm having UPS issues)

Yes they are, I am very familar with Domian and his style of hosting events, we go back a ways. The best excuse I have for not attending thus far is having a reliable car to want to make the journy +6hrs out. But I think I have it covered for next season, so I hope w/my fingers crossed. Well this time I made promises so I'll do everything to make it happend.

I may go with Audi as well if they have an event next season as well. Alright come back with some good storied and pictures/videos make us want to come join you guys next season.

Yup, I wonder if we actually met at a FTL event about 3 years ago? Anyway, hope to have good stories.

NM+, Settle Inn is the standard place. Hope your pads show up. I wonder if they gave you the same room I got a few years ago when I reserved late, it was the "Presidential Suite". I actually have pictures of it, the decorations were pretty funny.

Pat, if you can't get the alignment at Firestone, try that place on 14 next to FurnitureMart. I can't seem to remember the name, but I have had my car aligned there twice and they have been great. I would offer to help tune, but I am sure that would hurt you more than help you. I will send you a PM.

Uptown Firestone is the only place in town that has a low enough alignment rack. My car is too low for most other places. Unfortunately, it seems they put my car up on the rack and tell me it falls within spec and it still pulls to the right. Within spec could mean that one wheel is +1/8" toe out and the other is 1/4" toe in - it would be within spec, but still pull. Regardless, I have lifetime alignment with them so we'll see if they get it right this time.

Lifetime alignment is hard to beat. They should be able to get the toe dialed in better than that. Clements actually has a really low rack too which they can get my car up on without trouble. They told me that there is a guy in town with a 2008 ZO6 that is lowered that they can get up there too, wouldn't be free though...

    Saturday weather for western Iowa:

Mostly sunny lows in the 50s highs in the 60s. Sounds like a perfect track day!
