The sad part is I've already used up my available break this month traveling to Cali, so I won't be able to make this one

FYI the Glacer Lakes Quattro Club track events are run very well. There's no room for screwing around (so Matt, no donuts in the pit area ;-) ) There's classroom time to discuss the track and physics of cars.. and the classes are mandatory. I'm guessing that most here already understand car dynamics, the traction circle, etc., but it's fun to watch the noobs get surprised you should not brake hard and turn sharp at the same time ;-)

There's also exercises prior to lapping.. slalom, lane toss (accident avoidance), and a braking exercise to teach people how to brake into abs at 60mph+ and get familiar with how long it takes to slow your car down (nice to know when approaching a corner at 120mph)

Instructor will drive you around the lap a couple times in your car (they will not go all out though, just 30% or so), and an instructor will ride with you on all lapping sessions giving tips and advice or answering questions. If you are good enough, your instructor may solo you, thus not requiring instructors to ride along any more.

There are predefined passings zones and techniques. Disobedience of these rulse gets you booted. They're serious about safety.. no tailgaiting either.

    I highly recommend it :)

But wouldn't Quattro Club be Audi-only?

There U go again...........Joel. Mr. Funguy!

Put it this way, this is a great opportunity for AWD drivers to really show their stuff. ;) Let go Scoobie's }:)

Jordan what about you? If I go I plan on upping my brake pads and putting on my TBE and tires maybe. Have not decided yet. I like that track.

Here is another incentive, I raced a few Vipers last year when I went there. Kicked a few Porsche and watched a F-body car test run.

I would definetly run upgraded pads front and rear. It's not a requirement, but I'm guessing the stock subie pads won't hold up the the temps they'll see at the track. What tires are you running? Most (if not all) of the people that will be in your run group will be running DOT legal summer tires, and maybe a few with all seasons. Although I'd recommend against the all seasons as they'll hold you back. Also, RE92s = skip. :-p

My question Jordon is I am more than qualified with several racing liscenses. Can I skip the BS check rides and classroom crap?

I would also like to talk to someone about actually instructing some of the subi guys who have asked me to for help

Unfortunately, they require you go through their instructor training program, etc, etc to instruct. I don't think they really care much about other licenses, they want to make sure that instructors do it "their way". Also, the classrooms are required afaik until they put you into a more advanced rungroup. I don't know all the details unfortunately.. want me to give your e-mail to someone who would know the answers?

OK I can understand that they want me to go throught there schooling to be an instructor and that is fine with me.

If I decide to just do the classroom and run as a normal person I am going to have issue with someone driving my car. I have to much time invested to give the keys to someone I do not know and have them drive. I have a racing clutch and it has to be driven a special way or it will wear out. BLAH BLAH BLAH

I guess Yes please forward me the contacts so I can discuss it with them directly.

    OB1,

Let go do the Audi School. But I may not make it to this one, but more likely the CIBR.
