Hey there, my name is Gavin and I just bought a used 2002 Subaru Impreza 2.5rs. I'm excited about it and was told this is a great resource by many people. This is my disclaimer: I know literally nothing at all about cars. I know the difference between automatic and manual, I can point at my engine and I can put oil in but that's about it. I've read the first mods and newb's read this posts in the modifications forum but they just boggle my mind. I have no idea what the terminology is. So, I'm really hoping everyone will be very patient and helpful with me because I'd love to be able to learn a lot and get into this new to me community. :biggrin:
Dark blue (is there a specific name?) It has nearly 38k miles on it. Stock everything as far as I've been told. It has the fog lights though I like them a lot.
Welcome! There is ALOT of information on here! If you are a newb to terminology just google it and get friendly with the website howstuffworks.com. Everyone here is nice and will be patient. If you read the "newb's read this post" im sure you are familiar with the SEARCH button. Great tool that isn't used by most new people (and existing ones too) and that what most people get flammed for. It happens to the best of us but just know any "joke making" is all in good fun. I also have an 02 in this color, one of my favorite colors... Mine has quite a bit more miles than yours though. Have fun with it!
I was curious about if the mod threads that are about WRX apply to the RS? My friend told me they are very similar and I should just treat it as one when looking into things but I thought I'd get confirmation on that.
Depends on what part of the car we're talking about. As far as engine and tuning, no, they are entirely different. Suspension, pretty similar as far as the years go. Brakes, tires, wheels (what fits, what doesn't) are about the same. Interior parts are interchangable, as well as most exterior parts. It's best to ask questions that are specific to the mod you intend to do.
