It would depend on the game. It is a business class machine would means the video system isn't made for gaming. I would look at something else if that is what you are looking for.
^ agreed. for 120 and it has a raptor in to, steal! btw, i've heard people OC'd these processors to like 4ghz
Yes, the 775s do like overclocking. Keeping them cool is relatively easy, too, however the mini case doesn't leave much room for a huge cooler.
With the IBM bios I think overclocking is doubtful. For those that want to rock multi-monitors I have a PCI Geforce FX5200 I could put in it. It would support up to three then.
I'm thinking of building a media-center type computer for my Bravia... This could be a nice shortcut, especially with that size HDD. I'm guessing it just has onboard video?
Intel graphics, yes. Onboard. You planning on running any HD content? This may struggle to play 1080p.
Depends on what you have plugged into the 775 socket. A Core2 series runs pretty cool. Especially a Wolfdale or Yorkfield, owing to the 45nm tech. P4s, however, run pretty dang hot by comparison. They still overclock really well, though. But, I wouldn't be confident the the BIOS in this one would let you overclock.
Actually it does have a pci and pci express x1 slot so slap in one of these: http://www.hauppauge.com/site/products/prods_hvr_internal.html and you're in video business.
Yes, the Core2 Duo does run VERY cool. I've got one running stock speed and an OCZ cooler; idling in Vista (around 20% per processor, lol) it runs 1 degree C above ambient room temp. And the P4 still runs cooler than most AMDs! Having a PCIe slot definitely helps this one. I thought it was a mini case, but apparently it accepts full-size cards? Very nice deal.
From the looks of it, the daughter card would probably allow a full-height GPU if it wasn't too long..
Yeah, my Wolfdale is running only a few degrees above ambient with the huge cooler I have on it. The Athlon64 it replaced ran much warmer. The nForce4 chipset on that MOBO could fry an egg at idle. (not that I tried doing that...) The p45 in my new MOBO runs much cooler, but still about 10 deg. above the CPU.
