Anyone get hit? I work right downtown, and they sent my whole building to the basement. Interested to know if like the IDS Center got evacuated. Pics here: http://bit.ly/mntornado
haha, I saw some super strong winds earlier from my desk, kinda scared to see my car (I park on Portland and 19th).
Lol, yea you might want to go check on that. It was right around that area. And not only winds, but my friend lives in that area and said he looked out his window and water was up to the bottom of his doorframe.
so yeah, we were not notified about 40 minutes after it pass through. i am on 3rd and washington.... every other building owned by my company was sent to the basement. even our building in shoreview was sent to the basement. why we were not notified is not sitting too well with me right now. we had someone get an email that said that there was a tornado 8 blocks away. we went to the window and heard the tornado warning sirens blowing like crazy.... so where is our corporate security to tell us to hit the deck? THEY ARE ON THE ROOF OF THE BUILDING! ok guys here is the plan. we hear that there is weather that has potential to kill people and destroy parts of the building. i think the best thing to do is to go up on the roof and check it out. we will radio you if you might die. oh but don't worry this crazy storm could in no way blow us off the roof, kill us or make it so you don't get the "WE'RE ALL GOING TO DIE" radio call. OMG I am surrounded by idiots that will not warn me if I am going to die. Please also note that our sister building 4 blocks away was sent to the basement....
I was! It went by a few blocks from me in South MPLS. just a lot of trees and things nocked over. Kinda crazy!
3rd North or 3rd South? Because I work on 3rd North and Washington. Anyway, here's that pic of the water under my buddies car:
all my co-workers went to the basement, I was sitting in my office with headphones on. I had no idea it happened until I got up to take a leak and they were taking a beer break and laughing at how they forgot me. lol....Thanks Guys!
I think my parents are losing it. I got a call from my mom, "Honey, there was a tornado in the cities. Are you alright?" ".....Mom, I'm in Wayzata."
I was driving up 35w at 3pm and there was tons of water at 35w and 62, there was a highway helper up to his chest in the water trying to un plug the sewer drains. That was a pretty crazy storm, tornados don't usually come out of a storm like that.
I work in Arden Hills and we were sent to the basement on two separate instances. Nothing happened there.
I think i saw you, I was getting on 35w form 94. yeah water all over the place, a few spots i thought i was gonna get soaked inside the car!
I was working away didnt know anything until the second shift came in haha nice to know they inform us when a storm passes over
my parents live a mile from there, I was on my way over there, in uptown at lake a henn at the time the tornado touched down my mom and I had plans to go to a antique shop 2 blocks from Portland but my mom was running late so we missed the tornado thank god. we did see the aftermath driving there and it was insane to see huge trees just uprooted and tossed around like they weighed nothing, on houses. some tress were split in half completely. so scrazy.. cell pics
unfortunately not, i work for an exteriors contractor knocking doors when there are storms, so i took a fun trip to 34th and portland.. half the people i talked to said they were hoping to pocket the insurance $$$s so they were not interested in having work done... these are houses with trees laying on them, and threw them... did see a ton of crushed cars and damage every where.. destruction is awesome
I could just see you bopping your head, and you get up and wondering where the hell everyone went.:laugh::laugh:
Park Ave , oakland Ave, and 35th St, all I saw were trees down on the whole block. I work only a couple of blocks from there. I came in to work as the damages were done. Pretty crazy
