Does it take a while for the site to change? I've never been to this site before (so no previously-loaded copies) and it says Jan 9-10 for the Minnesota rally.

Right but due to the snow, it was pushed back to the 16th. I have email confirmation, more details when the are available.

Cool. I'll be keeping my eye on this. Seems like a great thing to do for those of us who have never done rally before?

It's similar to a stage rally except on public roads so you maintain a specified legal speed rather than drive as fast as you can. There are penalties for arriving early or late at a control. The instructions are the same as a performance rally, usually tulips with a mileage. If you already do stage rallies it's good practice, if you are interested in getting started it's a good way to learn.

procedurally it's very similar to a stage rally. Dave and I did a couple last year to learn our rally computer. They're actually a lot of fun even at the speed limit. There's supposed to be an IIRA ice race that weekend so I don't think we'll be going

New info for MN Winter Rally (MWR)
MWR 2010 - Duluth to Fairbanks

Ran the MWR course this weekend. Roads are in very good shape, snow and ice
covered with some very icy spots. All roads are plowed, so ground clearance
should not be an issue unless it snows a LOT the day of the rally.

    Date: Saturday Jan 16, 2010.
Start will be at Blackwoods in Proctor (US 2 & Boundary Ave).
    Registration from 11am to Noon.
    First Car Out at 12:01pm.
The course is about 200 miles, so we should be back at Blackwoods about 8pm.

Watch for updates here and on the ASCC website.

what are you confused on? You register online (there's a link the first post). There is an entry fee (cheap, $30 I believe). You show up, you do the rally, you finish, have some drinks and go home.

    here are the regs
