missing and smoking like crazy!

i have a cylinder 3 misfire, with a tick, im thinking either valve guides (notorious on single port 2.2 heads) or an injector, because its pouring gas out of the exhaust, and i mean liquid gas, im gonna try my turbo injectors and see if it takes the miss away, i wont be able to go to redline, but it will at least drive

 

check injector connectors, and the like. Spark plugs, wires, the coil pack. Wish you luck!

 

im fairly certain that its cyl 3 injector, because when i pull the connector off, it still misses of course, but it doesnt tick, and seems to smooth out a bit ( as smooth as a miss can be!) so i'll try my other injectors tonight,thanks fuji!

my dads subie has the 2.2 and he threw a code for missing on cylinder 3. it was a bad plug wire. new wire in and now no more probs. good luck diagnosing it.

 

well, i put the right side turbo fuel rail on, with injectors, and it seems to run fine, so im ordering a new injector, also it stopped smoking, 80 bucks sound ok for an injector?

 

i bet if you scrounged i club or sometign you could get one for liek 10 bucks.
