SO we found out (thanks to Idget) that i was missing a restrictor pill in my 02 WRX. My question is could that be causing a lean on bank 1 code? p0171?

Nope, the pill is there so you can hit target boost with a bleed system.

List of mods?? Lean on bank 1 is usually a fuel trim code, so if your fuel trims are too lean for a intake or something like that.

Without the restrictor pill the car is hitting limp boost at 9 psi. So until he gets that little pill, no.

If you're getting a lean on bank 1 code, the last thing you want to do is turn up the boost. Get somebody who knows what they're doing to hook a computer up to your car and figure out exactly what's happening.

The first thing I would check for is a massive pre-turbo/post-MAF intake leak (assuming the stock airbox).

Did you check the bov return hose? It's pretty easy to overlook that hose since it's so buried.

Check everything when we pulled the intercooler off. Then double checked when we put it back together... it also has a bad hesitation at like 4500rpms.
