    I need some help/advice/opinions...

I bought a car about 3-4 months ago from a guy in moorhead, drove it for about a month and then resold the car, the guy i purchased it from never transfered the title into his name and i dont know the guy he purchased it from, I had planned on transferring the title into my name but the ND DMV is telling me there is someithng wrong with the title, so i just decided i'd try having the guy who's name is on the title to get me a new title....i found out where the guy works called him, got ahold of him he told me he's really busy but he'd try to help me out, that was probably over a month ago already, since then i've called him numerous times, text him, left many voicemails and he never answers/returns calls/nothing! so i tried to get ahold of the guy i purchased the car from to see if he can talk to the guy he got it from, he also never responded...

Any idea's on what to do?

The MN DMV says the only way to get a replacement title is to have the person on the title file for a lost title.

    Any suggestions/help is appreciated!

Minnesota still does bonded titles, you pay x amount of $, if no one gets back to the dmv you have a clear title and get your money back. If the last person on the title does get in contact with the dmv they either dispute and they have to prove the should own the title, then they get the money and dmv signs off to transfer the title or if they can't prove they should own the title you get the money back also. There's more to it but it's been a couple years since I have done one, but my neighbor buys at least two dozen cars a year and goes through it quite often, rarely ever had trouble getting the $ back and always getting the title. Which car was this?

UPDATE: I just had a visit from the man who sold me the L in question. It ended with the police and a tresspassing of said guy from my property. Apperantly he told the police that I used the title from his 94 L to title a questionably obtained subaru and re-sell it and that's why John's having so much trouble. lol.

I bought it and sold it to john in all of 3 days. didn't get the title into my name because the title VIN matched the dash VIN, i didn't want to deal with the registration and it sold in 3 days without me even advertising it at all.

Probably not the best choice on my part, but I also made John aware of this and it really shouldn't have been a problem unless there's something really odd going on here.

Anyway, thought I would share so I don't get a shady rep on this board in case I ever decide to sell other stuff, and in case I ever have free time to do more subaru stuff than just drive them...
