Over the next couple of weeks I will be making some site updates and changes. There are a few options that will be added (company/vendor/sponsor) directory. Kinda like the old shops area, but much more up to date. It will include descriptions, google maps, videos/picture capabilites, etc. This will also be vendor upgradeable. So as a vendor, you will have control over your listing. I have already added out google event calendar. http://mnsubaru.com/pages/calendar/ I still have some work to do with the integration, but we now have the calendar back and we can start adding events. Since it is a google calendar, you can add our calendar to your personal calendar to keep up with all the MNS events. We also have a LARGE site update coming soon. I am already running a beta 2 build on my test site and everything is pretty good. I have some theme work to take care of since the new update takes most of the graphics and places them in site wide sprites. So I need to add/modify the custom icons onto the sprite sheet. Version 1.1 adds a significant number of features to XenForo, including: Right to left language support Thread prefixes, including prefix use permissions and quick management systems A warning system that allows you to limit the access and permissions of troublemakers The ability for your users to ignore the content of other users Custom user profile fields, with the ability to display specific ones with messages Daily statistics tracking of a number of different elements Admin CP search to make it easier to find your way around the control panel Admin logging (include a full log of all request data in POST requests, kept for a definable length of time) Moderator action logging Thread viewing permissions to limit a user's access to just thread titles or just their own threads User group promotions Notices at the top of pages Greatly expanded criteria system for use with trophies, user group promotions and notices More media embedding options and support for a larger range of sites Option to auto-embed media objects such as videos An attachment browser / manager for admins The ability to attach files to conversation messages The ability to search within threads General interface improvements, simplifications, and tweaks Performance improvements including use of CSS sprites, smilies as sprites, minified CSS, and minified JavaScript This is just a small taste of the larger additions, along with many bug fixes and improvements. I also have a few more site tweaks that I will be rolling out over the next week or so. So if you have any suggestions or comments on things you would like to see changed, please post them up and I will see what I can do. Russ
Ok, couple of little updates. Vendor directory. I have it installed and up and running. The directory is available from the tab in the navbar. Currently it is empty, but in my spare time I will start adding some of our vendors to the list. Please feel to add yourself to the vendor directory if you are a vendor or you are doing work on the side for fellow MNS members. If you add spam to the directory, I will delete it. If there are any other categories that we should add, please let me know. This directory is also owner updateable. So you as a company owner, can add your company and services to the directory and if things change on your end (you move, new phone number, etc), you can change your own information. Google event calendar. I have now moved the event calendar to its own tab in the navbar. Now by clicking on the calendar tab, it will bring you to our google calendar. This calendar is open and can be followed, so you can add MNS events to your personal calendar. If you have any events you would like to add to the calendar, please let me know and I will get them added. XF 1.1 update. I am still in the testing mode and working on getting my sprite pages setup. I think there is another beta coming out next week and if everything test out good there I might do the update to the beta. Currently beta 2 is working very well and is very fast on my test site. Everything works as described and there are no issues, so I may even update the live site to beta 2 in the next day or 2. As always, if you see any problems, please let me know and I will try and get them fixed up asap. Russ
