Well, as most of you have noticed, thre has been some forum changing. Basically at this time, we are trying to create a friendlier environment for new people and try to make things easier to find. Over the next few days/weeks, I will be rolling out a new VB update and a couple of new forums.

    DIY - Instuctables
Basically, this forum will be for people who want to create a DIY for everyone in the community. This will also be the location for simple walk throughs. Once the threads have run their full course of questions and answers, we will clean it up and add it to the Tech/Tips forum for the benefit of all the new incoming people.

    Ask a Tech/Guru
This will be the place to ask your questions and have them answered be a Subaru Tech or a forum member with a established track record of providing good information. We are currently looking for member that are willing to provide answers and help for new members. If you are interested in helping out, please let me or one of the other mods know.

If you have any other thoughts or suggestions for us, please, post them up and we will try and handle them as best we can.

    Thanks you
    Russ

Be forewarned, if you don't have a good trackrecord, or you haven't proven yourself, you will be rejected for the Guru position. Don't take this personal. The reason we are doing this is to allow people to get instantaneous, trustworthy answers to their questions without all the discussion and trolling that tends to happen in tech threads. The atmosphere we want to create is one similar to going to a dealership, walking into the service department, and asking a Subaru tech your question and getting a solid answer right away.

We are still working on the DIY instructables thing. What we may end up doing is making a separate forum for submitting them, and letting people add their two cents first. Then when everyone in the thread is in agreement, we will clean it up, make sure it isn't full of spelling and grammar errors, and then post and lock it in the DIY forum. The reason for spelling checks and such, is that we want it to be searchable. If you have a question about doing a project on your own, you should be able to go in that forum, search relevant terms, and get what you are looking for. If you can't find it, and you are brave, you can dive into your unknown project head first and then write up how you did it and we will put it in there.

I see an issue - I can't edit my posts.

For example - my FS thread.

Yeah, unfortunately we had to remove that for all users, some were abusing the edit post function. Please PM a moderator if you need something edited.
