MNSubaru Club Task Force Roles

As has been stated in the main task force thread we need to discuss and decide upon actual roles that we need to operate efficiently and effectively.

What I would like to see here is actually two different things.
First, I'd like suggestions for roles with a description of what that role will entail.
Second, I'd like both nominations and bids for a particular role. This means that you can first describe the role you would like to fill and then attach your bid for it.

Eventually a poll will be set up to decide the positions and then some form of election to decide which candidate will fill each role.

I will add each suggested role to this post so that it will be easier to keep track of and please PM me if I miss a post.

Position: Treasurer
Shall be responsible for the finances of the group, receiving and dispersing all moneys and rendering account of all receipts and expenditures. The Treasurer shall be the first authorized signer on all group financial accounts. The Treasurer shall be accountable to the executive committee as a whole, and to the Secretary individually for his actions and decisions.

I intend to run for this position as I have 5 years of banking experience.

 

i dont see it as a role really, but there needs to be better communication between the Task Force and the moderation/admin team

 

Sounds like a secretary or administrator role to me
Also, I'd hope that mods/admins would like to be involved in the Task Force

Shall be responsible for presiding over the monthly business meetings and executive committee meetings, vision casting for the group, and leading by example. The President shall vote only when one vote is required to break a tie. The President shall be the second signer on all accounts. The President shall be accountable to the executive committee as a whole, and to the Vice-President individually for his actions and decisions.

Shall be responsible for assuming the role of the President in the event of an absence or vacancy, and to complete the term of the President in the event a vacancy does occur. The Vice-President will hold the President personally accountable, and will coordinate and hold accountable the standing committee chairpersons. The Vice-President is an ex-officio member of each standing committee, and will be the liaison between the standing committee chairs and the executive committee. The Vice-President shall be accountable to the executive committee as a whole, and to the Treasurer individually for his actions and decisions.

Position: Member at Large
Shall be appointed and approved by the general assembly and shall be a member of the executive committee. The role of the member at large is to represent the interests of the general assembly, and to be the watchdog of the executive committee. The member at large may be called on by the other members of the executive committee to aid in the function of their offices. The member at large shall hold the executive committee accountable, and shall be accountable to the general assembly.

I think this describes he liaison well.

 

what about some kind of event planner? like a social director or something. i was a social director on a board in college and it was a pretty fun role.

yeah for sure. i was gonna nominate him to go for this role if one of you didnt. tangledupinblu is a classic example of the type of person that we should all want running the club.

 

As I stated on the other task force thread....I'd highly recommend requiring anyone that's wants to run for a position to provide a list of their credentials. If people are going to vote for a person let's make sure it's an educated vote based on skillset and experience, not just popularity.

Okay, a Social Director seems like a good idea as well. Josh has been nominated and seconded from what I can tell, but he still needs to accept the nomination.

Plan, promote and generate enthusiasm and interest for the Club's diverse social programs. Arrange for special publicity needs and supplies for each event; decorate areas for promotions. Keep accurate history on file of each event; write up follow-up correspondence. Book bands and entertainment; agree on fees and times; contract for and monitor entertainment. Coordinate food and beverage; plan and coordinate food promotions. Serve as the Club’s liaison with the social and other committees as appropriate.

 

sounds like a good definition of the social director to me.

Would we need a representative for public relations at all? I'm trying to think if we would want to actually appoint someone for radio/TV spots if need be. Just random thinking.
