MNSubaru morning updates

First off I want to apologize for the down time this morning. Looks like I got almost everything done in less than a hour with 30 people knocking on the door wanting to get in.:laugh:

Anyways, I now have MNSubaru update to the latest VB version 4.0.8. I was hoping to wait till 4.1 before I did the update, but I suddenly have a bunch of extra time this week and the update covers about 500 bugs. Either in 4.09 or 4.1, VB will be releasing a new editor for the forums. So webkit users (Chrome and Safari) will be able to use the WYSIWYG editor and not have to use the BB code do insert pics and links. There is also going to be some pretty heavy backend updates rolling out with the next couple of releases, so pending my free time and when VB actually releases them, we could be with this current setup for a while.

Along with the new update, VB also changed some of the theme items. I *THINK* I hit most of them. I still have a couple that I need to figure out, but the dark theme should be good to go. So if you see anything out of place, please let me know. Also include what browser you are using so I can test with that browser.

I also made some front page updates. I have included a "Follow us" twitter link and finally made a official twitter widget for following people. This widget is leaps and bounds better then the rss feed one that I was using before.

I have also added a new contribution link and widget for the forum home page. I have a couple of things that I need to test out, and once I am done with that I will roll it out for everyone. Unlike the last system, this one will automatically update the progress bar, and keep track of all contributions system wide and for each individual user. Hopefully I will have that running live for everyone later this afternoon.

And lastly, the social media stuff. I have been using twitter a bunch more for the website for sending out tweets about upcoming events. I am also digging into the facebook integration. At this time it is just used for a quick login, but future plans include transferring posts to and from your wall and MNSubaru's wall. As the facebook integration moves along, I will throw out any updates that I have.

Well, as for what I know about Facebook so far is that there is currently 2 pages. The group page and then the personal/website page I had to make for the developer tools. Once I get some of my other projects knocked off of my list, I will have to jump into how to migrate the 2 together and have them integrate with the website. The big issues are the VB wants to connect one way and Facebook wants to connect another way. At this point, I wouldn't expect Facebook integration to happen real soon, I would guess a couple of weeks out.
