It's about time for another shooting outing Let's plan on getting together at Bills Gun Shop at 9am in Circle Pines so those who want to do some distance shooting can get dialed in farther out than 25 yards. Newbies are welcome and encouraged to join us for a fun and educational outing to the range. Bills has rental guns available for those of you who would like to try a gun out, and there will be plenty of firearms to try as well. If you'd like to try a firearm that belongs to someone else, it's not a bad idea to bring some ammo for that particular firearm. A PM to the owner to find out what ammo they'd prefer be run through the gun is always appreciated. If you're going, post up what you're bringing! Range and rental rates and directions to the Circle Pines range can be found on Bills website: www.billsgs.com See you guys on the 20th! I'll be bringing: Lewis Machine and Tool MRP CQB (5.56mm) Mossberg 590 (12ga) Remington 870 Police Magnum (12ga) Sig Sauer P229 (.357SIG) Sig Sauer Mosquito (.22LR) Kimber TLE II (.45ACP) Glock 34 (9mm) Kimber Rimfire Target (.22LR) Ruger 10/22 (.22LR)
I will try and make this one. I might be bringing: CY6 SLR15 Operator (5.56) Springfield M1A (7.26x51) Springfield XDm (.40) 1943 Sako M39 (7.62x54R) I am really looking forward to trying out the M39. The bore is in questionable shape and I am really curious how accurate it will be, since they are supposed to be very accurate when in good shape.
I'm in. Katie can't make this one but I'm sure my friend Nick will come along as usual. hopefully a few people can make it. I welcome anyone to try anything I bring. Like Brian said "Newbies are welcome and encouraged to join us for a fun and educational outing to the range." I'll bring some combination of Springfield XDm/XD subcompact both in .40 s&w my wifes S&W revolver-.357(or .38 special) DPMS classic 20'' ar- 5.56 Mossberg 500 12 gauge Remington 597 VTR (.22 LR) and possibly a highpoint 9mm carbine and or Ruger 10/22
I'd like to come but still no gun(this last year was not nice to me). If anyone is willing to let me shoot their wares I'm in, provide my own ammo obviously.
anyone have a CZ-82? yes the Czech surplus one...if someone does i am very interested in testing one out before i buy one.
hhhmmm very interesting i might attend this, but don't count me in yet. I have not shot in awhile, not sense moving from ohio like 2 years ago
I found that they have the 100rnd value box of Federal .223 in stock at Wal-Mart now. Comes out to $.43 per shot after tax which is pretty good. I just need to find someplace with brass cased 7.62x54R.
I have over 800 rounds ^ the powder is corrosive it came from a Russian Metal ammo box I also have a M44 Russian! I think I can make it!
Yeah I dont think that you can get any 7.62x54R with non-corrosive primers. I have heard that even the new Winchester stuff uses the corrosive primers. Best bet is to just treat it all like it is corrosive and carry some windex with.
I just went shopping last night, I've got around 200 rounds of .45ACP, 250 of 9mm, ~400 rounds of 5.56 and I still need to pick up a box or three of .22LR.
FYI there is a big gun show at the state fair that day if anyone gets the itch to buy something after shooting. My in laws are coming down for it at some point in the day and I plan on checking it out.
Ugh.. going to be an early morning. The M1A probably wont make it out since I dont have any ammo for it and dont have enough case room.
OK so i just picked up 250 rounds of 45 + what ever else i have and 525 rounds of 22LR + whatever else i have....o I just bought the 22LR conversion for my Kimber= cheep playing.....
I know for a fact they sell it. I could check the FF in Lino lakes right down the road from Bill's this afternoon.
I was looking at doing that as well for mine, but then I found a Kimber Rimfire Target used for about 50 bucks more than a conversion. A .22LR 1911 is about as fun as it gets. Make sure you keep an eye on your mags, once the springs start to get worn you'll start seeing some funky malfunctions. They're not rebuildable, so just toss them and get more. I've worn out two already with several thousand rounds. Great training tool, and running .22LR I've paid for the gun several times over in the ammo savings.
I was just out and about. Fleet farm in brooklyn park has a poor selection of ammo currently. 80% of their selves are empty. They did have a bunch of the good .308 in stock but it was kind of pricey at $.70/shot. I ended up getting some 7.62x54R at Cabelas. I had to pay a premium to get it brass cased, but as a bonus it is non corrsive. I am looking forward to trying out the Fin. I think that if it still shoots well I will be buying some spam cans.
I have several of my own tho. And God put me here today to bust some Lexus-corporate ASS and actually get my girlfriend's car fixed.
