We will meet up at the Cub Foods at 9PM, and then head over. I want to leave around 9:30PM to get over there. We are supposed to be there, per Kare11, by 9:45. Don't dilly dally. **Meet at 9:00PM at the Cub Foods off HWY 100 and 36th.** Cub Foods 5301 36th Avenue North, Ste A Crystal, MN 55422 Hey kids, it's that time again. Well, actually it was probably time a few weeks ago to get started, but unfortunately this year I've been much too busy. With that said, best to get this out of the way now, this will likely be my last year running this event as time just isn't on my side these days. Kare11 has given us December 8th as the newscast/dropoff date. And they gave us a 10PM timeslot. Not sure how fond I am of this, as the morning slot was always kindof our thing. But I'm sure we can make it work. So, get out there and collect your toys, and be ready for a late night toy drop off this time around.
I'm in! For those newer to the site or the Toys for Tots collection/cruise-We do meet An hour or so earlier and cruise in as a group to do our drop off and TV thing at KARE 11. Last year we met at CUB foods in Crystal and I'm guessing that'll be the plan again this time around. Stay tuned for meeting time/place. As in years past, if anyone knows they can't make it and wants a toy/toys delivered, I'm in the northeast Mpls or northern burbs daily and will accecpt drop offs or will even pickup(if the toys are worth my gas money )
I suppose I could throw a Subaru badge over the blue oval for this year... I think I can make this. Hopefully the late time slot doesn't kill our turnout.
Maybe I'll have the vagwag make an appearance. Put it on the calendar. Post event beers should be had.
I should be able to make it no problem... So to be sure what is all acceptable, for toys i mean, This time is ONLY SUBARUS right? or are other welcome?
^^^^The drop off at this site is open to the public 8:30am-10:30pm. "We" requested a small bit o face time on tv and got this slot. So really anyone can come but this drop off/time slot is sorta set up here for mnsubaru members to get together and do something nice for the kiddies. As far as what vehicles delivers the goods, Subarus are a good option when you can but half the people responding don't even drive one anymore. This is one of those times it more about "us" and less about the our cars. Toys for Tots FAQ- http://minneapolis-mn.toysfortots.org/local-coordinator-sites/lco-sites/local-faq.aspx#821
You can bring whatever car you want. I don't even own a Subaru anymore, and I run the event. I'll likely be showing up in a Dodge or an Infiniti. Doubtful, but it might even be a 350z roadster.
Hey Sally... I remember the tent being heated last year... I don't see what the problem is here!!! Also, I clearly recall you sucking on a fag while wearing shorts in the cold earlier this year... Just saying!!!
I was talking about Stephanie. She isn't a fan of cold weather. I drove it home from the dealership in March when I bought it. It was 42 outside. I had the top down and the heater on. I was enjoying myself. She gets cold when it's 68 degrees in the house. I'm just being realistic. If it's below 50, she's not going to be putting on the antlers and smiling with the top down.
You folks are easily amused. It'll take more than a cold dude in a funny hat to do it for me. I'll be impressed when the sheer number of toys forces him to put the top down Jason, are we just meeting at KARE 11 or is there a pre drop off gathering?
Yeah, there will be a pre-meetup. I am trying to remember where it was last year, because it worked out pretty well.
This is less than two weeks away. Are people planning on being there but maybe haven't said anything yet? Any questions? Or do you hate toys and or tots?
How can you hate tots especially when its in a hotdish form. Come one people this is for a good cause . I am going to ask around at work if people wanna donate.
Planning to make it this year since I had to drop and run the last 2 years. Will have dogs in tow. Ill see if I can find antlers or something equally humiliating to put on them.
I will hopefully be able to attend again this year. Like Shorten, I can probably put a WRX sticker on the back of my truck..
Got some gifts to donate. I'll try to make the event. If I can't make it, can someone deliver the gifts for me?
Sweet! If you find you can't make it and haven't found someone to deliver feel free to PM me and I'll make sure they get there. ****Just in case nobody noticed, the original post has been updated with a pre delivery meeting time/place. Get shopping!
I'm in!!! Have been shopping all week and picking up toys!! I should be out there with a good amount!
Is there a minimum amount? I just have a few, I dont wanna show up almost empty handed, I have like 10 toys...
Wait a second, we are supposed to be bringing toys? I thought we were supposed to be taking them for ourselves. No wonder they gave me a dirty look last year.
I usually start with 5-6 gifts and by the time I get to tft it's down to 1 or 2. My nerf gun collection is pretty sweet now though
True story! I just unleased some nerf shotgun fury on Katie and the dogs minutes ago with a toy that I intended to donate years ago.
Last couple days to pick up an extra toy while out n about. Anyone going that knows how to take a decent picture? There's not much to photograph and I'm not sure the conditions are the best that time of day but it would be nice to have a few pictures to show what we put together. I'm not into the tech stuff but I'm sure there's a way to get the clip from the tv bit too, right?
