Tomorrow I embark on a very early flight to bring home the newest (or oldest) addition to our Subaru family. Wish me well on my trip out west and the 1800 mile trek back to northern Illinois. More to come....
The more wagons, the better! Fun fact, in Great Britain the wagon is called an estate car. "I love my wrx estate." Wtf is wrong with them?
Well the first leg of my trip was slow going. Lots of fog and snow in the mountains through Utah, paired with a burnt out headlight cut day 1 short. Only got 500 miles in, but damn I am in love with this little wagon. Goal today is about 850 miles to Omaha, hopefully I80 cooperates.
Drove her 12 hours yesterday and this little wagon is a champ! My only grievance is the minuscule gas tank, fill ups are quite frequent. Just under 500 miles to go, almost home!
yea those old 22s are pigs on gas probably didn't hurt that a head light was out, its not like those lights put out any useable light on the road welcome to the first gen club!
3 days and 2000 miles later and she’s home safe and sound. Trip was mostly without incident and I can’t wait to get to work making her perfect.
Why did it upload the same file so many times??? @tangledupinblu can you please fix my [email protected]?k up?
Nice leggy but aren't you worried about upkeep and maintenance on it? I would be. But, it's a damn good looking car. Lots of folks here that are project hounds would love to score something like that. Nice find!
I’m not really worried, it’s in great shape and up to date on maintenance/repairs by the looks of it. I’ve met a really great group of enthusiasts here and have learned more in the last six months than I ever thought I could’ve, and I have access to a heated shop and lift, which makes subaru life much easier.
I’ve found the next one! https://classiccars.com/listings/vi...vio-for-sale-in-christiansburg-virginia-24073
Had some time yesterday on my buddy’s lift so we installed the new KYB struts, B&G lowering springs, solid endlinks and Speedlines. Also remedied a boost leak I didn’t know I had and resolved one leak (only a dozen or more to go). This thing is unusually well preserved, oil and power steering fluid do wonders to repel rust it seems. Also had time to swap the rear damaged door out. Need to do paint correction to see if I can get the white to match up a little better. Amazing how different the car feels now and the height is what it should of been in my opinion. Love it more everyday.
