I just read on MSN money that the WRX is the 4th most costly car to insure, the evo was #1 and the SRT-4 was 3rd. That sucks. I know its my own fault but the sales person at BP Subaru told me it was real cheap to insure because of the 4 doors and the safety rating was so high. I guess next time I should do some research first. Its funny that a Corvette or porsche didnt make the list, they cost twice as much and in some cases have twice the horsepower. I guess it comes down to what age group of people buy the cars.

Based mostly on your AGE and driving record. My full coverage w/500 deductible is under 700 bucks for six months coverage!

$150 a month. Records almost clean though, hope that will help next month when I get a new policy.

If you're under 25 (like me) and with a clean record, it'll still be expensive. After that age, it drops like mad :)

IMHO, why complain? It is a performance vehicle. You didn't get a Civic :p

let's not forget that Insurance companies classify STI's and regular WRX's as the same.

No, he is 28 and you are 21. When you turn 25 you can expect a 30 to 50 dollar drop in price! And then you will be in that $110 range too!;) Mine is like $118 a month I believe, through American Family Ins. I am also 28.

What’s up with $350 per 6-months and $89 per month………..you guys are making me jealous…………damn always gotta bragg………….all good tho…..more money for parts and beer. Are your cars salvaged/liability coverage only?

I go thru a broker who is like a middleman between insurance agents and the ins company itself. They were the best deal I could find……..so if anyone’s interested, holla……..i’ll give you the 411.

Damn, if we can recruit one person in every profession………we can have the hook-ups for anything………imagine that……….cheap ins, cheap rent, cheap food, discount tickets to whatever…movies, games,………….damn RICH people do that...............they hook eachother up.

    WRONG!

I pay $220/mo for the RS and STi (RS is not actvely insured, just storage ~$15/mo)....with a CLEAN RECORD! I have already started to look into other companies...MetLife raised my insurance almost 30% in the last 7 months! Their reason? The STi was reclassified even though the car was 3 years old.(able to do it for 2 MODEL years) They told me it is rated 26 of 27 after the reclassification (WRX is nowhere near that high). Plus, they just increased 15% last month...their reason was an adjustment was made for the whole state of MN! I don't buy it, they really just raised everyone of their MN customers rates by 15%?!

    ...looking to jump ship!

No, mine is full coverage and title is clean. When I bought the car I had Allstate, and had them previously for 12 years. They wanted to raise my rates to 155 per month for my wrx, up from 112 that I was paying for my legacy. As soon as I learned they wanted to gouge me I shopped around. I found american family and they offered the 89, but as long as my home insurance was through them as well. So there is a dicount in place, otherwise the car alone would've cost me around 100 per month.

It pays to shop around once and awhile. I also learned I was paying way too much for my legacy through Allstate, American family stated it woul've been around 70 per month. Ouch!!!!!

Let's not forget that people that own Vettes and Porches normally are older and do not act like kids when they are driving...Now if you have a 18-21 yr. old owning a vette or porche, good luck!

102 per month. 24, clean record (last one was 3+ years ago), and single. I go thru Farmer's. Well, the girlfriend's dad. Haha. SO, I have head of household, alarm, garage, "recreational" use, multicar, and about every other discount applied. Not too bad, IMO.

Well, I don't have any tickets and I have the homeowners, multi car, and married discounts. I have Farmers and I have had them for about 16 years and have only had 2 claims, so I am on the 2nd highest discount level they have. And on my car and my truck I have 120/120 deductables and 100/300 coverage.
