CR or JD I think. But I can't see the Mini being on CR's list - it has been at the bottom for years.

Still, I'd only buy the WRX. And I'd put up with problems as the cost of ownership of the Vette and 911.

I have a hard time believing the Eclipse is a "reliable" car. Maybe they changed their ways with the manufacturing process, but it's still owned by GM and worked by employees who seem to only be scheduled on Mondays and Fridays.

Maybe the newer/slower eclipses - not the good 1st and 2nd gens - hmm, interseting, the boring mitsu's are more reliable...

The 1st and 2nd gen DSMs weren't reliable either. They had lots of electrical gremlins. But they were fun, which I can't say about the current porker. I think Mitsu makes its cars out of pig iron. The DSMs weighed more than a Mustang or Camaro, and the 3000 was over 4000 lbs!

I had a 97 GSX 5-speed. Basically an "evo" what with the 4G63 and the standard trans and AWD. FUN car. BUT, the transmission was **** (and the clutch and crankwalk blah blah blah) and the shift fork went to crap and the transmission ended up failing and I coasted into a gas station. (This was 50 miles from home in the middle of nowhere) Turns out it locked the trans in 5th and Reverse at the same time. Wow. Yeah, all 4 wheels locked up solid, and of course I had sticky tires on. It was a BITCH getting pulled onto a flatbed. Burned out his first whinch. haha Fun car besides that tho, albeit heavy as hell. 3500 lbs curb weight I believe? Somewhere around 3800 with the automatic I was told at one time.
