...Just got in from lunch just in time to watch a good sized thunderstorm roll through. Lots of rain, lots of lightning, lots of wind. Oh, and that other wonderful byproduct: Hail. Lots of it. I haven't been out to check on my car yet but I think I'll be reserving our PDR guy before anyone else can. Anyone else get to take part in this little gift from Nature?
Yeah, that area is getting hammered. I just moved my car to the underground lot.... it's getting pretty dark here
Just talked to my girl. She works in Brooklyn park and was really upset about the idea of her rsx getting hailed on. She hasn't seen it yet but all the cars in the lot that you can see apparently got pretty roughed up. Stupid hail. Lucky I left work early today Looks like its headed east right towards me now
Underground parking garage at work FTW I am not moving my car til I leave for the day. Hopefully everyone will get to cover their subies somehow before it really starts goin nuts. ... and I'll probably end up driving in it after work anyway
Well, just got out to take a look at the car. We didn't get the tennis ball sized hail from what I could tell, it was more along the lines of g**** sized bits. My hood has a few dings here and there, but nothing too serious and you can't tell unless you're really looking for it. I guess we're supposed to have round 2 coming up in 10-15 minutes. Wonderful... Edit: Wow, Gr ape gets filtered? Jeez...
**** **** ass**** ***** vagina ******** cockface That's what I'm going to say if our Miata gets hailed on.
HAHA I was going to venture outside on my lunch, but now I'm not so sure. I can barely see the building across the street right now.
Up in brooklyn park they have a tornado warnign going on. looks like the brunt of the storm is going that way. So far no hail down here by the lake. got tons of rain coming down. its making the dirt/gravel/clay mixture which is the road now nice and gooey Hope your cars are alright.
I knew I should've stayed home today...Apparently the GMC dealership two blocks over didn't get anything.
Yea, I'm right on Louisiana and the 394...Just black skies, a little rain off and on...Why did they turn on the tornado sirens here??
1 inchers in new hope. i almost went home early too because i had a headache. i wish i had. because then the storm came and knocked out our power so i ended up leaving early anyways. now i really got a headache :emo: and my car has dents . camera phone pics:
Great, now it's gonna take me 2 hours to get to st. paul from here because people are gonna be driving like morons.
It doesn't anyway?? Yesterday we sat on 494 for about 40 minutes going AWAY from the cities, and were about to sit on 394 but I put an end to that. People drive like morons here regardless of the weather. Wait til it snows if you haven't seen that yet
I was right by you for lunch then. I was at Burger King. Got dark real fast, and just rained a tad. Plymouth supposedly had a tornado touch down, and straight-line winds that blew over some construction trailers on 55 & Northwest BLVD. From what i've heard, the guys working that site got messed up, and one of their trailers landed on a car.
Yea, we were listening to that on the radio...Hey, you were real close! Where do you work?? I'm at Crown Packaging, right next to Borton Volvo behind BK.
Just got my car back today from getting repaired after our hail storm last week.... weather is just horrible lately.
At least you aren't driving through that crap. After nearly having my newly-purchased LGT swallowed up in a tornado, with me inside, in that Andover tornado of September 2005 I can honestly say I'd rather it hail on the thing while I'm safe inside than wait it out wondering if I'm going to die: http://www.mnsubaru.com/forums/showpost.php?p=185280&postcount=16 But then apparently new paint must be bulletproof I saw the Strib post about the storm on my RSS feed so I was wondering how long it would take before we heard the casualty reports here. A tip for those that want to avoid hail damage in exposed parking places: invest in a good car cover and become a fanatic about putting it on everytime you go into work or carry a couple old comforters in your trunk and run out and throw those over your car before the hail hits. That little bit of protection goes a LONG way in saving your car from damage. The comforters have the added bonus of keeping you warm should you get stuck in the winter. Or do what I do: get a $0 comp deductable for your car and hope it hails so you can get a new custom paint job
F**K , i just took a look at my car...there are dents all over the hood and the top ....im so sad!! anyone else got hailed? and how much usually cost to pop the dents up?
Sorry to hear that Kin, don't know of any pdr places. I know that alot of others do! Does anyone know a good screen repairer!? J/k! I live in the apartments across the street from chokin, this was what I came home to after work... All the ftw, ftw, ftw.....eventually, she's gonna **** us back!
Got full coverage on the car? Insurance should take care of it. My car was at Abra so I didn't have to worry about it
^no ....its not full coverage.....so my insurance wont take care of it... josh: Holy ****, no wonder why there are dents then .....im glad the windshield didnt smached
I went to a dealership n BP and all the cars on the lot had pretty bad hail demage. They are selling all the cars for much cheaper now. I wonder if some of thouse used cars are now salvage.
No, they are not salvage. Apparently you're not picking up on the meaning of the word. It's not going to cost 70% of their value or greater to repair them.
