When going to a movie theater, just because they say please silence your cellphone doesn't give you the god damn right to sit and text message though the whole god damn movie. Just because you're not talking doesn't mean that every time you check your stupid blackberry it doesn't beam light in the faces of all the people behind you, disrupting the movie. Have some god damn common courtesy to everyone around you and put the ****ing phone away for 2 hours.

With that said, I've had to ask people a few times now in different movies to please stop text messaging. I guess I don't understand why the hell people think it's ok to do that through the whole movie. I'm not calling anyone out on the board, I'm just asking that everyone be considerate of the people around you. If you're that important that you can't wait to answer a stupid text message, maybe you shouldn't be at the movie. This is coming from someone who used to work on-call over the weekends. Did you see my ass at the movie theater? No, because I have respect for other people.

I am so glad I haven't actually fought anybody at the movies. I like the drive-inns.

A bunch of strangers in a small area can be explosive.

I asked a huge dude to stop talking in a movie once when I was a teenager. He threatened to punch me if I didn't shut up, so I just went and got management. They stopped the movie, kicked him out, and gave me a free ticket. Justice!

I was terrified leaving though. :(

Dude, that's sweet. I wish more people would grow a pair and tell people when they are being rude in the theater.

I generally don't go to theaters anymore because of all the horror stories. I think out of the past dozen movies I've gone to see more than half of them had some BS involved.

One of the worst was at the 20 in BP. I should have never gone there in the first place. A family of 5, or at least I think they were a family, came in about 5 minutes in to the Dark Knight. The "mom and dad" disappeared for about an hour during the movie. Meanwhile their spawn chewed sunflower seeds and just spit the shells out on the floor of the theater in front of their seats. They would also comment on the movie in between spitting seed shells. By the time the movie was over there were big piles of shells in front of each seat. I felt bad for the couple sitting in front of them because a few of those shells flew into their hair. I don't know if I could have kept as calm as they did. Those farm animals didn't even apologize when they spit shells into those other patrons' hair!

I don't want to bring race into things but sometimes you gotta wonder why there are plenty of examples of people COMPLETELY following their racial stereotypes.

yea, I was at the circus o lay or watever and i told some really drunk dude to quote unquote be quiet. He threatened me, and stood up. My whole family stood up at I am sure it was gonna get nasty. But luckily there was enough security to handle the situation. So now I pack a big fat dessert deagle .50 every where i go. it gets so bad nowadays that i dont even really get bothered by the little things. its talking that bothers me.... if someone cant keep their mouth shut it drives me nuts! the last 4 movies ive gone to see have all had a group of people (somehow they always sit right behind me) who sit and make little comments the entire movie... and its not just whispering, its normal volume!!!!! WTF PEOPLE!? i have gotten in a few peoples faces and scared the crap out of a number of little highschool punks. cell phone texting doesnt bother me as much though cuz most people turn on the dim mode (most people must not even know its there) so i cant even notice when they open them.

but i feel ya dude. if someone starts to bug me in a movie i cant let it down till im asleep

Hmm ... xbox huh? I've done their streaming videos with my laptop over wireless and it actually works pretty well, despite having to install their proprietary player. Quality is decent and I've never had to wait for loading (though my inet is quite fast). VGA+headphone audio output from the laptop sucks, though.

It's just so hard to justify a blu-ray player when the PS3 is the same price.

You can rent a suite at AMC in Maple Grove for $100 plus movie tickets. If you have 17 people it would only be $6 more per person. It seats 17 people, and has leather recliners. I have done it a couple times, it's sweet! Nobody comes in, so you can bring your own food, or bottle ;)

I've just adjusted when I'll go to movies. I try to hit the off hour matinees and I'm willing to wait a couple weeks for the hype to die down. Some movies I will go see opening night, but it better be a damn good move. The theater by my place in Plymouth is pretty decent as far as the patronage, not a whole lot of morons to deal with.
