I am moving to FL on Saturday, and i will be driving down. I don't have a hitch or trailer, but i want to get my bike down there, what options do i have? Add the hitch and get a uhaul trailer? ship it? I really have no idea whats going to be the Cheapest/Best option to take. Thoughts?
cheapest will probably find a shipper because a hitch and rentel is going to cost you around a $1000 all said and done. Shipping probably $500
How are you getting the rest of your stuff there? Rent a larger uhaul truck and load the bike inside. If you need to, rent a car trailer haul the car, drive the truck. Just a thought... Would suck having to drive a U-Haul to Florida...
Im pretty much just filling up my car with as much as i can, the place i am staying down there is fully furnished, so i dont have to worry about furniture or anything for the time being. I looked at doing a UHaul truck with a trailer, driving the truck with the bike in the back of it, and towing the car, and it came to be $1400. I feel that would be way overkill, just the trailer to rent is $378. Any idea how much hitches cost? if they are too much ill probably just ship the thing down there and pick it up.
How about a buddy with too much time on their hands,motorcycle license and a one way plane ticket from Florida to Minnesota...
Haha, had this idea, unfortunately nobody has the MC license, or is too busy. Based on what i am seeing to ship it too, its cheaper just to fly back here and drive it back down, it would suck to ride it that far, but its by far the cheapest option.
