Hey Subie heads, my Name is Stephen. I own a black 04 Wrx wagon and couldn't be happier with it! I've already hauled around more things than I ever did with my civic. 100% stock for now and 108k on her, but still runs strong (besides the crappy stock tune). The obvious first mod I'm going to do is to get a catless up pipe installed. I don't want to have to buy a turbo. I've been on NASIOC for a few months but there's hardly any local guys on there. Good info all around, but I'm glad I joined MN Subaru. It's easier to pick up some winter tires from someone 15 miles away than worrying about shipping. Alright, that's my introduction. See you guys around town.

I live in Minneapolis just west of Downtown. What are these meets that I keep reading about? And where? I could use a little guidance as far as what order I should do some of the mods in. Except the up pipe, that is first for sure. I suppose I could get a little help here since I'm typing:D

    Catless up pipe
Maddad whisper exhaust (catback for now)
Boost and oil psi gauges (I have a dual pod gauge cluster surround to mount them in)
Down pipe, not sure if catless or catted yet. Would a long dp eliminate the 3rd cat and mount to a catback exhaust?
    Motor mounts
    Tune
Maybe Sti suspension to lower it a tad unless that's a waste of time/money

Money is an issue and so is my extended warranty, which has saved my ass already (Both front wheel bearings, Power steering pump, oil sending unit, ac compressor)
I know that I should do the dp when I do the up, but I can't tune my car until the warranty is up. BAH!

Up pipe is a must if your planning on modding past stock.

If your getting a cat back and a downpipe, that should eliminate all stock exhaust pipes post turbo. With a td04 catless wont make a difference in power so i recommend catted (cnt is a good "cheaper" brand of down pipes, also i recommend the fast motor sports/fms cat back for a good sounding catback that wont break the bank).

There is no wheel hop in our awd subaru's so motor mounts are not needed for quite some time.

Tune is a must with the d/p, either access port or open source. Talk with nf performance for this.

Im not sure what kind of drop sti suspension would bring. Usually some sways help dramatically with handling.

Keep the d/p off until you have the money to get a tune. Again nf performance will have tons more knowledge.

Other than that just keep an eye on the oil.

Thanks for the advice! I decided on the Maddad whisper catback because I drive a wagon. Without the trunk and rear seat muffling some of the noise, wagons have drone issues. Talked to a couple wagon owners and they love the whisper exhaust. Still has the subie rumble, but not too loud at 3k rpm. I'll look into the suspension more. That'll probably be one of the last things I do.
    Thanks again

I had it on an 05 wagon. Exhaust varies from person to person very much. It was the cobb replica style.
