Tuesday night, at Lake Gorge in St Cloud MN at 7:30pm you think it sounds safe? Well, as I was walking my dog around the lake I saw 3 guys standing about 3 feet from my car. As I got 1/2 way across the lake I could see them leaning on my fender and looking in the windows. As people would walk by they'd back off, or face away from my car, then when it was clear they move back in. I was on the last 50ft of my walk and I had a choice to make, I could let them break-in and keep walking while I call the cops, or I could walk up to them and being grosley out numberd hop in my car and hope not to get car jacked, these guys looked every part of being capable to kill a man. Then I rememberd that I'm walking an Akita, a mean looking pup at 75lbs. (8.5 months old). I walked up to them like I was oblivious to their intentions and said " great night for a walk? " they looked at me, then they looked at my dog. I then said "please don't try to pet her she is not good with stangers" (she is the nicest dog you'll meet). Then she lept at them (in friendly puppy excitment) and they were terified, it work great. I talked with them for about 2-3 minutes about akitas, one of the guys said his dad had an akita when he was little, and "those thing are crazy and can climb trees" he went on about how his dads dog got loose and "killed a deer within 10 minutes", then he said "by the time we caught him, he was up to his chest in deer blood and meat". By this time we have moved from infront of my car to about 9' away. I then said "hey, you guys have a good night" I waved goodbye and turned to walk to my car, they stepped towards me and Kona turned her head shot them a look, and they backed off. as we drove away, we looked back and there were 2 more guys in a minivan parked behind my car that they went and talked to imediatly after I left.
Happened to me down in Texas actually over Spring Break. I was down there with my brother and a friend, we were staying at my Aunt's condo in Sherman, TX(15 mins from the Oklahoma border). Anyways, my brother's car needed the struts replaced so he called and got it scheduled at a Discount Tire. He dropped it off in the morning and took a cab back to the condo. I went out to walk the dogs; A Newfoundland and a Female Doberman. I just happened to be near the Discount Tire and my brother called telling me the car was done and wanted me to pick it up. I said sure and headed that direction. Apparently, this Discount Tire puts all the finished cars in a back lot with no camera's, fences, nothing. So I walked in, got the key, and headed around the side to the lot. As I'm walking towards the car I see 4 guys standing around it. They see me walking towards them and immediately act as if they are the owners of the cars on each side of it. The conversation went like this: Me: What are you guys doing? Guy #1: This your car man? Me: That wasn't my question. What are you guys doing? Guy #2: Just sittin' here dude, what's with the attitude? Guy #4: Yea, who do you think you are. Me: Well, that's my car, and you 4 shady ****s are standing next to it. At this time, I kinda let the leash loose a little bit, to give myself more distance from the guys. Mind you, the only reason I was saying this was because I had a 150lb Newfoundland and a 80lb Doberman standing next to me - both of which are for the sole purpose of protecting my aunts condo from burglars. The conversation ended by Chuck(newfoundland) barking wildly at them. The guys eventually walked away. I looked the car over for any damages and left with 2 dogs in the back seat. It's nice to have a few dogs when your dealing with shady characters.
That is a great looking dog. do you have any current pics? I am curious how big it is now. Dogs are FTMFW
well said i'm sure you're right, but i've also just caught people looking in my car because of the boost gauge (usually really young kids though)
