I've waited 10 years to get my hand on this car... finally 2 years ago my dream came true and in a split of a second... it's gone. Everything ended tonight. My baby is gone... she's been taken from me

I went out to meet my wife in Edina after work at her work place so we can leave together in one car and catch a Timberwolves game downtown at the Target Center.

Got to her work around 6:15pm or so and heading out together in her mini-van (assuming my car will be safer on the parking lot of her work place in EDINA).

Game ended about 9:15pm or so... head back to get the car... my heart sank the moment I notice my car isn't there anymore... at first I thought... well it may have been towed... then again we've already notify her work place we're leaving my car there for a few hours and we'll be back to pick it up after the game

My car is no where to be found... no glass breakage, no sign of foul play. I've parked my car there in the past without any incident.

Called 911... got Edina Police on the phone and they ran a check... no car was towed in the area  Now I'm beggining to worry frantically.

Cop showed up on the scene and took down details. Finally got home and called my Insurance company to report.

Now I'll just have to wait and hope for the best.

I'm in a sad, pissy and mad mood all together. Going to bed now and hope for a better tomorrow.

wow! that really sucks. it is nuts to think that someone would just out of now where steal your STi. i hope the police can find your car, and hopefully in one piece too.

what was the liscence plate? if i see it i will notify you/police.

i am just awe struck at what some people will do. good luck with finding the car. maybe insurance will buy you another new one?

Dang, Vic! I'm so sorry for the loss of your STi. I hope it gets returned or found soon. It sickens me everytime someone else thinks anything can be theirs if they can steal it.

Third on the workplace cameras. If they do and are willing to cooperate with you on it, maybe the authorities would have a better chance of finding it. What gets to me is that there aren't no signs of broken glass. Either someone used a key or they pulled the window outward and unlocked it. Either way, the car is gone and your insurance should take responsibility for it's coverage.

    Dang, man!

    Vic:

I feel your pain, I had a car stolen in much the same area right by the Southdale mall back in the mid 90's. The sinking feeling in your stomach when you realize it is gone is to much. I hope it turns out for the best!

So sorry to hear that Vic!!!

on the glass thing, they could've done what they did with my girlfriends old cherokee...put a towel over the window, tap it with a ball peen, very quite, and all the glass falls into the car, then clean it up later.

Justin, my job is stable and good. You know I'm the man when it comes to my job. I'm good at what I do :D

I'm just piss and cranky right now. Thanks for suggesting on another car but I'm just not interested in the new STi or a used STi... I just want my car back but knowing it'll be stripped or damage from the incident... I'm not so sure if I'll want it back either.

I'm just hoping for the best

I feel your pain man. I lost my 02 RS to a case of mistaken identity a couple of years ago (long story short, I had a black 02 RS and was housesitting for a friend with a black 02 WRX) and they stripped and burned it. Lousy thieving bastards. Hopefully you'll get your car back soon and karma will catch up to the SOB's who stole it.

Man, that just sucks. I had a motorcycle stolen once, full coverage so I wasn't out ten gees. But the cop first came out and wondered if a friend had taken it as a joke. Idiot.

Sorry to hear about it. Hopefully they get busted for an unrelated charge and spend some "quality" time in prison.

more than likely, no one's going to prison from this... thought i wish they would. let's just say we all put a man hunt together and find these fockers, string them by the knards, and tattoo "suba-who?" on their man breasts...

I know how you feel, had my RX-7 jacked back in '88 by a couple of high school kids looking for a joy ride. Sure do hope your Scoob turns up in good shape.

    alarm shmarm,
a wedge, wire rod will open the doors, pop the hood and 2 seconds later your buddy kills the alarm.

13 seconds and it's hooked, 8 more and its loaded.

i would fear that by now its stripped and sitting on shelves in chicago, ready to be sold accross the city.

i'm really sory this happend to you man. 100% total suckage.

    :(

man, whoever stole it must have either knwon alot about subies ( i would have no clue where to even start in breaking into one) or just know CRAZY amounts about stealling cars.

i gotta start devising a HIGH voltage, HIGH current shocker system for an alarm. tough the car and make their hair start mokin! think there would be a market for these?

alarms only deter smash and grab thieves in built up areas. I a remote parking lot, there's nobody to hear it anyways. They'll just set it off, pop the hood and cut the siren anyways. and leaving it in a big lot means its easy to get on a truck. If theyre stealing it for parts that are valuable they'll just trailer the thing onto a truck and drive it to the shop so the cops wont pull them over and they never have to even worry about starting the car.

It's better that you never see it again. If you do, its usually badly messed up and can be more of a hassle. A friend got his car joyrided, smashed up, abandoned and used as a hobo toilet and got it back, the smell never left it, and the isurance company wouldnt total it.

well.... kids need to learn to keep their hands off whats not theirs and to respect others property so a quick shock from an anti theft device would help speed up their nureons and they might learn it faster. J/K but then again is a normal looking subaur sitting in a parking lot at say midnight really that attractive to a kid? (especaily when they should be in under curfew)

i really hope that you get soe news soon. i have been keeping an eye out for 04 blue stis on the roads.
