today i was at panara studying. when i left i saw that an audi was parked alarmingly close to my car, so i walk to the back of it and find that one of the screws from their license plate cracked/poked a hole through my rear bumper! it didn't go all the way though and after waiting for the police for over an hour they guy saw the police and finally came over to see why i was still standing by his car. (scared him into it) he was nice about it and gave me all of his info etc....

i'm wondering what its going to cost to have this repaired on my 05 rs. there are 2 other small scratches on my bumper (one from when i bought it another from a G&$ D$%* prius!) and i'd like to replace it but doubt that it will require that.

Replace it with an aftermarket bumper cover worth more.

i think either of those would look good, but only if left unpainted on my car :yumyum: without any other matching pannels...:laugh:

With a new bumper cover, I'll lend a guess at about $500. Paint the cover and blend the quarters, and possibly the deck lid.

if it were me...i'd just leave it
but if it bothers you, just get some touch up paint and touch it up. Then if you get extra money get a new bumper since i doubt it would be worth it to even mess around with the insurance hassle at this point.

I agree it's not really worth the money to get a whole bumper skin, but then again my car is covered in dents/scratches/ect. so I'm immune to caring

Anti-rice.com is cool, I just wish the kid would leave out his commentary. ;)
And yeah, like these guys said, just leave it, or just touch it up. Don't get a whole new bumper, it's really not worth it. I'm sure someone here can help with touching it up too, if it needs to be filled in and you don't feel comfortable doing it yourself.

And yes, I have the same car as you, and this is what I'd do. You'll get the same type of crap on the side doors from rock chips, or idiots who push target carts into your car. I have a red streak on mine and you can't even see it really.

We have black cars man ...dents and chips .. it's our curse :)

On the low side but a good ball park. Expect the shops that really take the time to produce show quality results to be close to the 700 or so range after taxes and all that jazz. If you're someone that's bothered by small details it's definitely worth it.

yeah, every little thing shows up. i'd like to at least fill it in and paint it, as well as the few other small scratch's on my car. what i'm going to do is have a shop quote it and see if i can collect it, and either have the shop do it. or what i'd prefer to do is pay someone on the site (like yourself) to do the work and show me how. If your interested please pm me.
