He is using Ron's old GT4088R Twinscroll kit.
I don't know what size is the hot side but it's pretty big. Just thought I'd share.

He was talking about upping it to the 1.06 hotside, so I assume that's with the hotside is. He ran GCS S2 cams on his gt37 .63 setup in Nov of 08

The hotside is a twinscroll hotside and I believe its either a 1.15AR or 1.30AR Not sure he still has to ask ron. He's running GSC S2 272/272 camshafts, but in the future is planning switch them out for Revolver Cams(Discountinued-Still Searching for used ones). It's a fully built motor with CP Pistons, Eagle Rods, ARP Studs, Dual Valve Springs, +1mm I/E Valves, Full Blown Dual Walbro Pumper, 1600cc Fuel Injectors and AEM EMS. His old setup the GT37R HTA made by buschur was IMO really crappy. It used the DSM Flange and the hotside was only a .63 and utilized the stock manifold which doesn't make sense if you wanted to make absolute power. We drove the car around yesterday and we find it interesting that this kit is less laggier the the Buschur Kit even when the Buschur kit used a .63 Hotside. As for wrapping the headers, I don't know what he's going to do.

The GT37R HTA Setup made 470whp on Ron's dyno but was running 30psi on E85. Ron on the other hand was running this kit with his
2.3L Stroker 4G63 making 424whp on 24psi Pump Gas. At the track, there was a big difference in the two kits. Ron ran 11.4@127mph with a crappy 2.1 60ft and my brother ran 11.8@121mph with a 1.8 60ft+(Stock 5 Speed Grinding every single Gear).

As for my car, I won't be catching up for a long time. This summer plans for my car is EWG on the stock turbo(if the vf39 is still holding). I'm looking into the PERRIN GT4088R Kit and thinking maybe I should go twinscroll too XD.

I sold the HTA GREEN, which was a decision that I regret! After I sold the GREEN I traded my SPT Catback for WRX TGV Deletes and bought Dark Blue WRX Injectors from Putz(Potential from 900cc - 1000cc). Now this would of been able to support the HTA GREEN on E85! The not so smart decisions I did, I decided to buy a PERRIN FMIC Kit which did nothing for me but caused surging and leak problems.

Ron made 524whp on pump gas at 24psi...not 424whp. AND...my brother doesn't have CP pistons, he actually has Wiseco pistons that are .020 over. 1MM+ valves too. LOL. The tranny doesn't actually grind every gear, it only grinds into 3rd but he gets locked out from getting into 2nd and 4th sometimes with the clutch he is using. Oh..and the cams are 272/274, not 272/272. HAHA

Ya I made 427 at 17psi before I traded this to your brother on my 2.3L. Im going to be dynoing his old setup tomorrow at RS, I will let you and Por know what I make. Im also looking into getting rid of that little .63 hotside and getting a much bigger hotside and a different manifold.

Why? There is a hood vent right above it. Besides, the intercooler doesn't sit right on top of the turbo. :)

this thread makes me lol! mike you had a proven solid setup that had potential to be a fast car and traded for a crap buscher junk that you will have to throw more and more money at to get to make anything that you could of had with the kit you gave away. two people now have a mismatched setups and both of you will be disappointed when you get in to it. a 2.0 with a 40r and stock head? kung will rule all now.....

oh and that ar should be a .95 if its a 4088r. that would be the normal size for it

    go kung!!!!!

Haha, this is Por on tux's account. I don't have a stock head and I've made more power than Kung on this setup already on E70. The only things still stock for the engine are the intake manifold and TB. Also, I don't see how a 2.0L and a 4088r would be mismatched. There's many 2.0L EVOs running bigger than a 4088 out there. There is still lots left on the table with my setup...I just don't have all the right supporting mods yet ie: bigger intake manifold, TB just to name a few. And I don't think a twinscroll 40r would come in a .95. I believe they come with a bigger hotside than a .95. Also, I'm pretty sure that Mike and I don't really care what Kung makes. I am just trying to make as much power as I can possibly make. Mike said he might be getting into autocrossing so that's why he traded me the turbo. There's no need to get all upset.LOL. Everyone has their own reasons for changing setups.

are you sure about you making more? that's all i will say about that. yes there are more options of ars for a 4088r but .95 is the common (default) that they come with. just because it looks big doesn't mean it is big. your probably use to single scroll housings. when you start tuning your set up you will start to see how you will choke that head which is why i would say "mismatched". also being that mikes setup all ready had all of these problems resolved already, you will just be limited. and this is why i will say that kung will still be able to beat you even with a smaller turbo. but on a side note you did however make out on the deal. that's one hell of a trade you just have farther to go to take advantage of it now.

Yup, just dynotuned today. I'm sure the power it made is more than Kung's and like I said, I just need the right supporting mods to take advantage of it now. BTW, Kung stopped by my gas station last week and told me how much he made on Ron's dyno last so I know exactly how much power he has. As for the turbos, there is no way that the 4088r can outflow the HTA88 that I traded Mike but because of the manifold and hotside that came with the 40r, I have made way more power than I did with the HTA88.

How will I be choking the cylinder head? I don't know what you are trying to get at because my cylinder head is built too. Bigger valves, machining, dual springs, the whole shebang. The only things holding me back would probably be my stock intake manifold and throttlebody.

Kung has a 2.4L and Mike has a 2.3L. They will always make more power than me if we ran the same turbos. Those bigger motors will always make at least an additional 50whp more.

I think all this **** is funny, Both Por and I drive year round. I think kung does too, all I need to do is buy a bigger hotside and mani and bam over 600. Matt, I dont get why you care so much on what us evo guys do, are you scared that one of these evo guys will beat your all out drag car? I traded Por cause he already had the ignition and was ready to step up to the next level, so why not help out another evo guy out? He called me yesterday with his results with his tune up at DB and all I have to say is DAMN, I am in the process of making what I have work for me as best I can. My car is fun as hell and can be driven everyday with no problems, thats all I want. Ya I want more power, but I can be patient.

i could car less personally but it just seemed like a really bad deal for you. the way you got your setup for dirt cheap when it was a proven rock solid setup and then just trading for a crap set up and some cash? its going to suck when you get your new hot side and you have the same spool or even makes it spool even later. so much for making it a better dd. i more or less feel bad for Ron because he gave you a hell of a deal on that setup and helped you out to give the shop a little more recognition and he didn't get any. and yes, i post in here because i am really really scared to get beat by you guys.

I just think its funny cause you care so much, how in anyway was the kit that I got junk? Its a good kit. Right now I am loving it at the 451whp and 400tq with the quick spool up. I could have easily picked up way more power if I had my dual pump setup in and my ignition. Por has all that so he was able to put down damn good power.

really don't. your on a subaru board that is very very boring when it comes to talk about making power over 400. you guys just happen to be on the forum talking about it. so naturally i will chip in and maybe start stirring the pot for ****s and giggles. as far as the kit goes i know its hard to under stand. but look at it. you traded a twinscroll header (if done right has really high gains) for a piece that we will say is stock. then you traded imo one of the best street turbos out there for a badly matched turbo that chokes. plus trading rads and mics things along with vary little cash. if i was you i would of tried to at least make out a little if i was trading for a set that makes less power and will need to throw money at just to make more power. i hope im not hurting your feelings by having an opinion on a subie forum about it. its kind of out there for every one to talk about when its on a forum.

I will say one thing first SUBARU RULES!!!... And the other one is that, I will like to see who is fast kung or Redlaneevo at the track on April, and if is not at the track I hope for any kind of video just to keep the racing spirit alive... Also I dont want to sound stupid with this coment or offend anyone but I will say Kung will be faster even with a smaller turbo cause I think his turbo spools quiker and he built speed faster... I want to be honest here I am not taking sides I just say what I think...

Also there is an old saying that says: "When the oven is on, make sure you know what you doing cause you can get burn"... lol
