So i went to BIR wednesday night to run the rex with the newly added Utec and Uppipe (expected mid 13s). I previously had only a downpipe. Much to my dismay, the car was slow, i mean it was a dog. I ran slower than when i had only a downpipe. The car feels way down on power. I ran 3 14.2 at 95ish MPH, at least i was consistent. I even ran one run with stock map, to see if it was an overly rich utec problem, and it was slower at 14.7 @ 92ish MPH, so taking the utec out of the equation. Something def not right, i busted off a 13.9 @ 96mph a year ago when i had only a downpipe. What could be wrong? Changing plugs tomorrow, a couple friends suggested fouled plugs from my short stint (one launch) with IGN cut Launch Control a week ago, which is when the car started feeling bogged down. p.s. crossposted from Nabisco.
Look for any signs of restrictions in the intake, exhaust, fuel, and spark. Hopefully, it was just small like a potatoe someone stuck in your tailpipe. )
Thats what i was running as well at rock falls. Times ranged from 14.0 to 14.5. Its an 02, power mods that matter at the dragstip include accessport, helix replica downpipe, 5zigen cat back, helix rep uppipe, perrin intake, various samco hoses, eriks bag of ice on intercooler that got me yelled at by the marshall. Also noteable, i was running about .5 seconds faster than a kid with about the same mods but with a utec instead. Must not have been tuned properly.

few things: 1st is that i tried running a stock map, it was slower (traps and et.) than with the UTEC, so that is out of the equation. 2nd, my 13.9 was when i ran only with a downpipe, now i have uppipe and utec, which should be faster, even if utec is running a stock map. 3rd, i had 3 consecutive 14.2s, so driver error should be ruled out, very consistent runs, not much more i could've done to go faster. 4th, traps were way low, which is a representation of the vehicles power, and sicne it was trapping 3-4 mph slower than stock, something is definetely wrong. 5th, weather wasn't to bad, got colder later add less humid, cars were running faster near the end, i'd say 65 degrees out, nothing that would kill the car as much as it did. I'm changing plugs tonight, looking for any boost/vac leaks, hope that this cures what ails me, if not, may have to buy a compresion kit to test it.
Duh, Bryan. It's because t3h SRT4 is t3h f4st4r.... I never got a picture of you with the helmet on though ... Next time! I'm kind of disappointed there was no mention of the girl in the SRT that was running 13.82's .... HER FIRST TIME RACING. C'mon Bryan...
Did you try and set the switch on the UTEC to zero? This will run the stock ECU. I think you are a victim of a SAFE map loaded in the utec. Do you have a wide band O2?
if you have time, come down to firestone and maybe bikerboy will look at it. he is a very knowledable man along with others. and nice too. shay, is that your friend with the wrx you were talking about awhile back?

I have a friend with a 2.5RS as well, but that's a girl!! She's probably on here somewhere, too, but doesn't post. Sorry to jack your thread Hulke..

Here's another question, would having the ABC turned out all the way affect it? I turned the setscrew all the way out to reach my desired boost, would this affect it?
You shouldn't need to open the ABC at all unless you aren't hitting your desired boost without it. Tune the boost map with the ABC closed and then open it as necessary to reach your target boost. Have you changed the boost gain from the default value (I think it's 50)? If apart from the boost map the UTEC map is a basemap, it's not surprising that it doesn't feel more powerful. The fueling is likely extremely rich (low 10's if not richer) and you probably have room ro add in a degree or more of advance in several places.
boost gain is at 48 now, boost values are at 355 at all RPMS and TPS above 20%. my laptop pooped on me on the way up there, so the only way i could increase boost was that route, and it still did nothing anyways. its turned back in, but the laptop is toast, so i need a new one of those now too. I'm changing plugs asap, i hope that may be the problem, both some freinds and i think the car was far faster last week according to the butt dynos. BTW, what would cause a "pop",(don't know if it was misfire, backfire, or afterfire) when coming onto boost in 2nd gear at 1/3 throttle, that happened last monday, just curious.

The way you launched on the Silver SRT was CLASSIC!
