So I woke up yesterday morning, and there was this crazy blue hatchback thing in the driveway. I wasn't sure what to make of it, so I went and took some pictures...

It's an '08 with 40k on the clock. First order of business is going to be a tune so we can (hopefully) put the brittle piston fears to rest.

Old enough to know better.

He's 56 years young, this is his 3rd Subaru (after an excursion through 2 Isuzus from '92-last week), and this makes me the complete and total traitor, as I'm now the only one in the family not driving one.

If that's the one that was at Walser Burnsville Subaru, make sure your dad takes care of the rust on the passenger front fender asap. It's hard to notice, but if I remember correctly, it was on the corner by the fender liner near the front bumper.

My apologies if this isn't the same car. The time of purchase is near the time it sold off their lot.

Is indeed that same car, I'll let him know. I helped him put mudflaps on it, didn't notice. I'll check tomorrow though. Don't want to let it get like my rear fender, that's for sure.

Also, anyone know of any stock GRs making more than 234 on DB's dyno? Shane said he thought it might be the highest HP bone stock (including boost and timing) GR he's had on there, after only richening up the tune and making it not sit in closed loop until 4k at WOT.

I have heard about bad things happening to Subarus.... why didn't you hit up one of the local shops or local tuners that have lots of experience with STIs?

I cannot possibly imagine how simply richening up the car has the capacity do more damage than the completely garbage fuel map they come out of the factory with. Timing wasn't messed with at all, nor was boost. The car knocked all the way up when it came in and didn't knock at all when it left. Sounds real unsafe and dangerous, especially while retaining stock power levels...

But you're you and aren't going to stop "telling it like it is" until I admit that you're right and I'm wrong, so I'm me and I don't know what I'm talking about because I'm of a different opinion so I'm in the wrong and I'm trying to screw up my dad's car. Happy?

no, the point is you're so bull headed and stubborn that you refuse to shut up and listen to anyone at any point in time, even if they are a bit more in the know of a situation. you also dive into conversations quite loudly and abruptly, which is why you're called spaz.
