well..i didn't want to post it up on member's ride cause its going to be the last page...lol...and no one might not see it...lol well..here is a sneak preview http://s140.photobucket.com/albums/r40/daodude/ tell me what you guys think...this is the red L shell i bought from Ryan...
awww memories:laugh: that thing should rock with the 3.3 in it though, good luck with all the wiring and stuff, it should be an interesting outcome. a little nose heavy but sweet none the less
ej 33 = 80 lbs heavier then stock 2.5 N/A. Get a lightweight bumper beam, an JDM Sti Hood (aluminum) relocate battery etc. Should be fine
^ i believe you are correct sir. it was based off the ej22 motor and should (key word) have the same bore and stroke with just 2 more cylinders. sleeve it and GT40R it. thing will move like none other.
after putting the engine in...i stared at it for awhile...and while looking...i smoked three cigs...lol...i nearly cried..lol....im loving it...turboing it after it runs...maybe by fall time...
run it around like that first...i'll bet it will be a while before its too slow for you, i bet its got such crazy torque....
correct, EJ22T pistons and rods are direct bolt ins, and they drop the CR from 10:1 to around 9.3:1... have you put more thought into the ECU tuning dao?
What numbers did you use to calc the CR at 9.3:1? The only reason I ask this is because if the EJ22T bore and stroke is the same as the EG33 bore and stroke, then the EG33 combustion chamber volume must be freakin' tiny. And what is the dish volume of the EJ22T pistons. I'm going to assume a break even deck clearance on this one as I can't find any information on that.
that was the number i was given my a fellow SVXer who supposedly did it to his SVX, he bench tested and flowed the heads and those are the numbers he gave me for the 22T set up...dont hold it to me tho
speaking of that...what else needs to be done to it??? hmm..i can probably get another set of pistons...i think....
You need to work out the exhaust first, flow test yield something around only 64% on the way out. Then cams < on stock internals with cams, exhaust and tune you can get up to400 HP reliably (or so says a few NASIOC gurus) edit: oh yeah, and thats N/A
its possible to get 230whp out of a 2.5L NA subaru motor but thats on retarded high compression with race gas, custom heads, cams and super high compression ratio. but i dunno if the same treatment would yield even 400 chp out of a 6 cyl
i wanna see this thing moving. i bet that with the eg33 TQ it will move that impreza shell like none other. this is gonna be so awesome!
well..once i get this running...if you stop by i'll probably let you be the first to ride with me as i take it for a spin...
the best sleeper monster....one day...when i go to firestone...with it..im going to lie that its not the swap! lol....
well...i did a few more mods to it...no pictures yet...cause i just got done and im tired out...but once im done its going to have a multi color body for awhile until i get a paint job...but for now...its ok to be a sleeper...
well...im still waiting on some parts that i need to make it run....so...for the time being...im just waitin and fixing here and there...but other than that...its nothing right now...nopfully when i get all the parts...it should be running...and i should be very happy....
