My recent ricer modification

    A week ago, I rubbed off my peeling DIY tint paint from my taillights. I used brake dust spray to rub the paint off. It works well, but it damages plastic. The glossiness is gone. As a result, I purchased 35% tint from Autozone and tinted the exterior of the orange part of the taillights.

    It looks great, but I don't know how long until the tint film will last until it starts to peel at the corners. :p

    spray some clear coat on it to keep it stuck. should gloss the lights back up too

    This time I'm gonna use some mineral spirits to help with the adhesiveness of the paint/clearcoat coats on the taillight surface. :)

    You could always wet-sand the taillights with 2000grit sandpaper and buff them, I'm sure you can get them glossy again. I just did some horrible headlights at the shop, they look like new now.

    Interesting... I should read more into this. Time to google it :D
