As I was coming home from pickin up a headlight from RobertCarvell on 494 from Woodbury today I see this white Jeep Wrangler just flying through the highway cutting people off. I didn't think anything of it until the F***er decides to cut me off having me to brake. I then seek revenge! I sped up then cutting him off halfway up his jeep. He decides to tailgate really close. I shift to third to slow down then when he got really really close I stepped on my brakes real hard and quickly sped on third gear. He too had to brake hard causing him to lose control a little. That made him back down.

Looking at my rear view mirror all I see is his Fat goatied face yelling giving fingers and motions suggesting me to pull overand fight. I was wonderin why he suddenly became brave, then I saw that he was exiting as i was on the far right lane. He continued to yell and fingers. I responded with a wiping my eyes motion.

Remember folks Thats a White mid 90s Jeep Wrangler with a tan top with a fat guy that has a goatie.

Judge me, sympathize me, love me, hate me.

Now, I'm the king of road rage, but I would warn that some of these ****s carry guns and are cowardly enough to use them on unarmed motorists.

i second that. you could have been shot by that red neck. except i feel for ya. i know when a bull sees red he gets mad and you were probably seeing tons of red at the time. i always try not to stick around cars like that. i would have done the same thing but i would have given him little show of how fast my is when i punch it. no need to get tangled up in a really nasty situation. get him pissed and then leave him there mad as all hell because you got the last word

How you would've felt if he lost control because of you and killed some innocent driver?

Remember that if you brake check someone any they hit you, you're at fault and its an intentional act.
How do they prove it? Next time you're on the freeway, look for the cameras.

To tell you the truth I didn't care at the time all I thought about was getting him back. But yeah the more I think about it the more I think i shouldn't have done anything. So I try not to think about it cause nothin happen. I cant just dwell on it or else life will be nothin but should have would haves. I for sure will consider it next time it happens.

This makes me feel like even more of an ass. Let both of Taras' and my example to just drive safe no matter what. I didn't think of any consequences at my time of rage. Next time I see someone that pisses me off on the road to let them go and let it be. Its a damn good thing no one got hurt in my situation but its unfortunate with Taras' friends.

Taras I'm sorry bro I usually dont get road rage but today I lost it. This is a lesson for me thats for damn sure.

Dude said it best I'm an Idiot.

What ever happened to personal responsibility? The guy was obviously driving like a jackass, nobody loses control because of anyone else. They only lose control because they made a poor choice in their vehicle. If Scidmark would have lost control because of his choice to be a jackass right back, then and only then would anything be his fault. It's always someone else's fault nowadays.....I really don't get that.

Being involved in such shenanigans in traffic is always a bad idea. Its all about circumstances. Someone road raged on me once on the Expressway from Duluth to Two Harbors. There was nobody around and I would have loved to send him into the ditch, finding the wrong end of a 12 ft boulder. My Legacy would not have won against the Suburban though.

Go write to your insurance company that you take fault for every accident you'll ever be in. They'll be happy to hear it.

If I was driving like an a-hole and caused or got into an accident, then I am happy to be at fault. Now you can take what I said very literally (like you apparently did) or you can realize that yes of course there are exceptions to every rule. There are obviously things outside of your control, but the situation that was described was not one such instance.

So you're happy to apply "exceptions" to yourself, but not to others. Ok, whatever...
Exception - is smth that people do not commonly expect, therefore do not take protective actions beforehand. Not every person driving erratically/aggressively expects people in front of him to slam on the brakes with no aparent reason, so I don't see why this "exception" yours wouldn't apply to them too.

Because of the simple fact that they are driving erratically or aggressively. That is the very thing that keeps that exception from applying. They are not driving defensively and they are not preparing themselves for what may or may not happen. They are driving like d-bags, and as such things that are "out of their control" do not apply to them, because they are taking no steps to protect themselves from things that they can control.

You seem to think that you know why others are behaving in a certain way. You don't. Not everyone driving erratically/aggressively is a d-bag only because you think so.

And again - you selectively do not apply "exceptions" to people you don't like. Ok - I don't like you, so no exceptions for you, its your fault when someone rearends you at a stop sign, because you did not look in your rearview mirror often enough and did not take evasive action.

Anyhow, I still don't get it, you seem to think that if you slam the brakes and make the 'd-bag' behind you loose control, get into accident and kill someone, its 100% his fault, even though had you not done that nobody would have died?

I have a question while we're on the topic of road rage and stupid drivers:

I observe traffic patterns and other drivers a LOT. It's a hobby of mine to see how drivers react to things and understanding traffic patterns to make my commute faster and safer. One of my pet peeves is those people who don't set a speed limit for themselves. You know, the ones who don't realize how much they vary their speed? For instance they chase down every car in front of them to get ahead and then once they're in front and there are no more cars to chase they slow down and you end up passing them again. They don't pay attention to their throttle control and/or use cruise control.

Here's what I do to mess with them. I see the idiot on the cell phone riding up on me in some tall SUV. I start going faster and faster to see just how fast they'll take their boat on the blind twisties on the tollway. Often they don't realize they're pushing 100 mph when they enter a turn that just about causes them to eat the barrier. This happens a lot more than you think it would and it never gets old. Now if they wreck out I can't really be held responsible for their death/injury because they chose to accelerate to follow me, right? Perhaps they didn't realize they were doing it but they should be paying attention to their driving. I'm sure I could be charged with speeding or exhibition but not anything to do with the car accident behind me?

I know, I'm really passive-aggressive but I love messing with idiots like that.

Yes, just like people who signed up for the military, got sent to Iraq and then tragically lost their lives. Granted had we not gone to war that tragedy could have been avoided, but they signed up for that knowing the risks. When you hop on the roadway everyday, you are accepting every single risk that goes along with driving. Are some things unavoidable? Yes, but does that mean if you are following to closely and cutting in and out of traffic and someone slams on their brakes and causes you to lose it and you kill yourself and others that it is that persons fault? Hardly.

I've had 2 big SUVs chase me before, at different times.
First one was close up to me, for no reason (and no, I didn't do anything to piss him/her off).
So I switched lanes, and the driver also switched lanes, so I thought they wanted to pass me, I move over, they move over. So I just waited for them to switch over and move on, but no. They wanted stay very close to me, so I switched again, they switched lanes also. This time it pissed me off, so I sped up a bit, they followed. So now I'm going 65, then 70, then 75, and they're still behind me. And highway splits, and I accelerated a bit more, and switched lanes quickly onto one of the highway, and the vehicle tries to chase me down, almost lost control of the car, and pulled over.

Second vehicle was full of dips***s. They kept taunting me. They followed me on Maryland ave and kept following me. So I was taking a left onto 35e south, so I accelerated and took a quick left, they tried to do that also. LOL, all you hear is their tires screeching and then vehicle slowing down.

The analogy would be - whether US Government is at fault in deaths of innocent civilians in Iraq. And its 'yes' to me.
So you're ok with innocent bystanders (not the person driving behind you) geting hurt because of your stupid little pride, and you don't feel that you are to blame, because they should have fully expected you to step on the brakes when someone pissed you off on the road.
You're an ignorant jerk then, I have nothing more to say to you.

I guess people's morals change depending on the situations. There are those times where you think its the right thing to do even know you normally wouldn't do it. Thats why people plead "insanity." At the time I thought I had the right to give what is coming to him. The more I think of it the more I think to just let him be.

Human nature is a weird thing. You guys know you've had those moments where you might look like an a-hole to others especially when you're not really thinking when you should while driving.

That's normally how I feel after a road rage incident. Now I figure if other people are gonna drive like dip****s, let them. Let them look retarded and go about your day. Just be mindful of their stupid driving when they get close to you. As my father once told me "You can't control the actions of other people, but you can control your own"

No fault is a rather complex insurance concept.
Basically, it means that for medical damages everyone's insurance pays thier own bills. This only really applies when your medical insurance in enough to cover you. If someone becomes a quadrapaligic and you're at fault, you're gonna get sued (and raped).
Property damage, criminal, and othe civil liability is all the at-fault party's.
