ok I gota problem with my Computer's Screen Resolution. It changes everytime I log into Windows. The right resolution is 1440x900. It changes to another resolution each time I log in. Back and forth from those two resolution. I'm pretty sure i got the right Driver for the monitor. Any ideas why it kept on changing each time I log into Windows. (Windows Xp Media Center)

Or the resolution you chose is unsupported by the monitor you are using so it forces it to change to a supported resolution. What monitor are you using?

1440x900 sounds like a 19" widescreen LCD. It is possible depending on your video card or the driver that it doesn't correctly detect the right resolution, or the monitor's "Plug & Play" isn't getting detected correctly. Try updating the driver for the video card, and see if the monitor manufacturer makes a driver file for the monitor and install that in place of the "Plug & Play" one it's probably using.

MCE... No domain logins, so that's not too likely.

My computer is a Home use PC only, nothing fency. Its an HP computer with a Westinghouse 19" widescreen monitor. I think it doesn't support the monitor. It usually changes automatically from those 2 resolutions.

If it didn't support it then it'd never display it. Sounds more to be an issue with the setting being held in the registry or something of the like. Unfortunately there's no way to set that via the registry without scripting and custom API work.

As others say, uber high probability of driver issues....

    http://welcome.hp.com/country/us/en/support.html

Select "Download drivers and software (and firmware)" and find video adapter drivers. Post if you're unsure how to find the exact driver, sounds like there are many who're familiar with this junk.

Don't be too afraid of applying the drivers, HP is pretty good about doing a sanity check on it's hardware prior to installation.
