My sister's brush with death on Wednesday.

My little sister got in to a horrible car accident on Wednesday evening about 1/2 mile from home. Here are some pics to show the carnage of the car. She is fine, wil be home from the hospital early next week.

she rear-ended that empty flatbed trailer. He was on Hanson blvd in andover, coming south. He for some reason was stopped in lane (this is a 55MPH road), no brake lights, hazards or anything, and my sister, being an unexperienced driver wasn't paying attention and ran into him when she was going "55". Her car ended up underneath the trailer. The bed of the truck came within a foot of her head. And the firewall is now touching the seats in the front.

 

OMG.. and she's alright? She's a lucky girl. I was going to say that it looked like she rolled her car. How old is she? I thought she was like 17?

Those pictures are horrific. It is AMAZING that she's okay!

Was that on the corner by that SA right near your house?

 

she's 17 1/2. It took them about 35 minutes to get her out. They had to cut the roof off of the car with the jaws of life. Then she was airlifted down to Hennepin County Medical Center. there were 2 choppers there. It was on the news 3 times supposedly.
I know one of the first respondants on the scene, he thought it was over for sure. She was lucky, got out with only a broken left leg and 14 stitches.

 

it happened 1 block north of Hanson and Andover Blvd, so about 2 miles north of the SA. The wierd thing is, when i was coming home from work, i could faintly see a bunch of lights down the road before i turned into my 'hood. Then the call came about 10 minutes later.

 

That's AMAZING.

Well I'm glad that she is alright.

I don't know if I could ever get back into a car and drive if something like that happened to me...

 

she said that too. she won't be driving for a litlle while.

p.s. she killed the boat. that car rocked.

 

Well, you should make sure she gets in the car soon .. because if she doesn't, she'll be scared forever.

What's she going to drive when she's all better? The $50 Corrola?

 

hell no. The corrola is mine. Aint no one driving that 'sides me.

OMG, So glad to hear she made it and is comming home within a week.

 

She's right around the same age as my sister. Lucky my sister hasn't start driving yet. But I think she's going to be the next crazy driver like me?

Glad to hear she's not too hurt. But a broken leg DOES HURT! Best wishes!

 

yeah, should be home on tuesday. I'm mad, she has to stay in my room becuase her room is upstairs, mine is on the main level. I said she should be in the garage.

Glad to hear she is ok. My g/f is just learning to drive and I cant imagine how I would feel if something like that happened...

 

I can't believe she agreed to stay in your room.

I remember the first time I was at your house I was advised by Josh not to touch anything.... HAHAHAHA.
