Hey guys, here are some pics of my webcam setup. I'll post some vids when I get some good conditions and good roads. When it gets warm, expect a lot more fun videos
I have a friend that works at best buy, so maybe 40 bucks. I used a sirius satellite radio suction cup mount thing as the base. It will actually stick to the side of my car so any angle is possible.
Ha ha!!! I know, but it works to hold the plexiglass in place. I actually screwed the webcam into the baseplate now so that's not going anywhere and I have a microphone that I put in the engine bay. Here's a crappy quality vid of it doing it's job. It's at night, so you can't see a whole lot but the purpose was to test the sound and the suction cup when it's cold. The first clip on the vid had the webcam mounted near the front license plate and the second one was on the hood. I will have better ones when I have time during the day. Enjoy  And I'm not sure about the ice race, I'd really love to go, but I can only spend 100 bucks during the month of feb. so I can save up for the engine build. http://media.putfile.com/webcam-trial
i watched the video. it looks pretty good. i like the drifting around the circle. it was a very cool view of it and the mic in the engine bay just plain rules! more pls. BTW: by positioning that thing all over the car you could make some sweet compilation videos. ie on bumoer, behind scoop, in scoop, roof, inside, door by wheel ect...
Yeah, I'm thinking this summer during auto-x stuff I could put it all over and make it seem like one run but with a billion angles. I'll make some more after snodrift (or during, ya never know )
