well we all know its been somewhat cold lately, my problem is that when i park it for the night the next morning when i wake up to go to work or something i got to pump my clutch a few times for it to fire up (weird) but lately that also hasnt been working. iono wth is going on. It seems that the issue would be the battery but lights dont go dim when im trying to start and it doesnt make the clicking noise associated to a dead battery. I turn it over and silence. Everything comes on except for the car. Any help would be appreaciated because this is driving me nuts!!!!:banghead:

could be a REALLY low battery.
check the fluid levels in the battery, turn off the headlights, and try starting again. if that doesn't work, have the battery checked/replaced.

could also be clutch safety switch malfunctioning. you don't have an aftermarket remote car starter do you?

So it turns over?? There is going to be a bunch of different things to check depending on if it turns over, or you get nothing when you turn the key. If it turns over, I highly doubt it is the battery.

I'd check the starting switch for your clutch, there should be two (one for starting and one for cruise). Since you had to depress it several times to get it started before the switch could be going bad or just need adjustment. Some switches can have their position adjusted and it may not be getting triggered. My vote is that the switch needs to be adjusted so that it is triggered slightly higher up in the pedal travel. Have you put different floormats in? Or are they out of position? Have you always had to make sure the clutch pedal was completely depressed in order to start the car?

I was gonna say that too.. if you had to hit your clutch a few times then the switch (kill) is probably dead... you may have mis-aligned it by stomping down the ckutch all those times to get it too work...

Well, if you really do have a warranty, you should also have roadside assistance. You could get them to tow it in.

Anyways, if the car isn't turning over and the light's don't even dim, that would mean that your starter isn't even getting any juice. So I would check out the clutch switch.

probably cause everyone wants an over the phone daignostic and then hold the person resonsible if it aint the solution.. he was probably covering his arse.. when you work or own a shop in this industry the customer is becoming the one who rapes the business owners nowadays...

although he could have taken a little more time in his customer service effort...

also check the connections on your starter too just to be sure...

Could be a bad starter Solenoid too, though the clutch idea sounds good too.

What do you hear when you turn the key to on? Does it make a click? does it not make any sound? does it not fire? Could be anything.

I think you can look at the clutch switch input using ECUexplorer. That would tell you right away if that were the problem or not.
