That's right! Brett Favre has retired!!! Viking New Year! Imagine all the Packer Backers calling in sick today, this day of mourning! I wonder when the wake services are scheduled? I kid cuz I care... I imagine a few things like alcohol sales, spousal abuse, and suicides will be up in our wonderful cheese loving state to our east! Oh and THIS! vvvv Randy does it again!
In all truthfullness, probably the greatest quarterback I have had the privaledge to grow up with even though he played for my arch rivals... 1. Montana 2. Elway 3. Favre 4. Marino 5. Moon Possibly bumping them all down maybe Brady when his career is finished. You also will have to throw Manning up there too when his career is over... Can't wait to celebrate tonight!!! [Vikings] We're comin! We're comin!
Vikes will still find a way to suck... But now Favre gets to watch from this home instead of doing in on the field.
he was a great quarterback. even though his last few years before his actual last year kinda sucked..still when i was at buffalo wild wings watching that NY GB game-when farve threw that interception in OT i said to everyone "his last throw as the greatest NFL quarterback was an interception." thats what kinda sucks about it all. but indeed he did end overall on a very good note.
Brett represented all that was good about sports. He played well, but more importantly showed enthusiasm that is missing in every sport except college basketball. I know Vikes fans have been real sore about him beating up on there team for quite some time now. He's the reason I became a football fan. The Packer's had many years of futility before he came around - who really wants to play in Green Bay, let alone live there!? He gave incentive to good players to come just to play with a legend. Now, I fear that the Packers good years have passed. It was a good run. At least I can tell my kids I was at that game in the snow where he threw that underhand pass while stumbling to the ground. - that was an awesome experience.
wait, you have Moon before Young? ... including addiction to, and abuse of prescription medication. just sayin.
Packers will continue to sweep the Vikings over the next couple seasons. I base that on nothing other than how I feel.
which he overcame early in his career. he's been sober ever since, I don't think he even drinks anymore.
They need to stop hyping this soo damn much. People will just get disappointed when they become aware that Favre has seen better years, and we will have just a marginally better season then last year. Yes, I am extremely happy that we won't have to watch Jackson look like a lost child on the field this year, and have someone more than competent leading the offense. But I'm keeping my expectations low, and would love to be wowed. Just my .02.
it will be pretty cool to see a legend on our football team, if he does decide to play with us. plus i hate travaras.
I work with a guy that said he "knew" that Farve would be here before the first snap of the regular season. when Farve said that he would stay retired I mocked him, and he just seemed more sure Farve would be here, mini camps came and went, and my co worker said "They will amounce it anytime now..." and I told him to get off his cloud.... then today happened. How the hell did he know?
I'm sure the old man didn't want to sit in a dorm room and actually practice through training camp. It also really seems that this ordeal is just being built up with his indecisiveness as a huge marketing tool for the Vikes.
Hate to call it as I see it, but it is week. First: Bret ran the negotiation all the way through, childress and the Vikes look like stooges that are desperate for him. They prolly wrote him love notes and sent him mix tapes while he was "making up his mind" Secondly: Bret could went to the mini camps and trained with the knose picking knumb scull T. Jack, maybe could have developed him into a nice ball snapper or somthing. I think overall this is WEEK. I hope the Vikes do well, but man, letting Farve run the show from the get go.
WEEK: A week is a grouping of days or a division of a larger grouping such as a lunar month, year, etc. Most parts of the world currently use a seven-day week. Weeks of other lengths have been used historically in various places. WEAK: The word weak is a generic adjective pertaining to a general state of feebleness, a lack of strength, durability or vigor Weak is the opposite of strong. Example: Jason Green has tiny muscles, therefore he is weak. As opposed to Jack Mitchell who has large muscles.
