Name some brands that are good quality with a decent price. Your help is much appreciated.

What do you plan to do with said brake pads? How hard do you usually drive?

EBC RedStuff and GreenStuff are good. Red is more performance, green has very little dust.

Hawk HPS's. Can get them locally with a 15% discount through the brake group buy. The thread is in this forum and will probably be ending soon.

I've been running Hawk HPS on the front and HP+ on the rear for a little more rear bias. I was going to swap back to my set of rear HPS for the winter, but the HP+ have been working just fine. They do dust more than the HPS, but they aren't noisy at all, like some people have complained about. The guys at Frozen Rotors will get you a great price on Hawk pads.

HPS is a better daily driver choice.

Not a fan of the HPS (STi experience)... I just switched to the Carbotech Bobcats and I am happy.

    ...b.r.a.k.e....

Since amr didn't provide much info, we really have no clue about his goals, nor even the car he has. Is he tracking the car? Is it for a Geo Metro? Who knows...:hsugh:

Through a lot of looking for my own setup, I've sort of come to the conclusion that you're pretty much sitting at Ferodo DS2500 pads or Cobalt GT-Sport as your two best do everything pads. Specs and behavior on both are very similar to each other and user descriptions end up pretty similar.

EBC Redstuff is perfectly good for an upgrade (ceramic) daily pad and weekend sport pad. It's not as agressive as some other options, but it doesn't fade easily and feels much like stock.

I personally run Carbotech AX6 (Panther Plus), and enjoy them. My only gripe is their less than linear behavior from cold to hot. Cold is above stock for daily use, but grip agressively goes up when heated. You get a mild cold bite and a very agressive hot bite. They also need some form of anti-vibration material (Brake Quiet, bearing grease, anti-seize) on the metal to metal surfaces to keep them from getting noisy(not rotor :p). I would expect better, initial cold bite and a flatter cold to hot grip level from the DS2500 and GT-Sport pads though.
