So long story short my gf's accord's hood won't close..It'll latch on but it won't close completely...i've been trying to close it for about an hour now...slamed it a few times.. adjusted the latch itself...nada...anyone know anything about this would be greatly appriciated:)

NOTE: I would try the honda forums...but most of the time they're of no help...Plus i'm a mn subaru member ;)

    Slam it harder?

Latches can get put in the closed position when they're still open, so it'll make the sound like it's closed, but it won't fully. Take a screwdriver and see if you can push anything on the latch out of the place where the bar pops in (essentially reset it to the open position).

spray some penetrant in there... very common on hondas... most cars up here by the way.. soak the latch area down real good...

hmmmm... check with a screwdriver that the latch arm is moving.. it may be stuck open.. again spray more in then move it back and forth... until it moves freely...

ps.. make sure your handle inside the car is back in... they can stick out and keep the latch open too...

I was going to come back and recommend you slam it really really hard, so I don't know if you should be thanking me. I almost broke your hood by proxy. :)
